Without the idolshit its not really macross. They also have to sing a specific song. Transforming mechas are also not that unique now. There are certainly influences, but nothing more.
Yeah, I am aware of that. They even literally use weapons from SEED. Plus Ange looks like Stellar and Tusk looks like Kira.
And explosions are not lethal in their world.
But seed is only a tiniest part and Cross Ange as a whole is way more than just that
