That interview is outdated, they confirmed Barnaby was in love since episode 14 and the 2nd movie's song Nemesis was conformed as a "passionate love song" to Kotetsu, that bit is in the movie.
Nips don't need it translated like we did so they got "hips shudder in satisfaction" right in the theater.

The 2 movies both have canon novels with internal monologues from characters, this is how Ryan sees them.
