If you can't afford firearms or you're not allowed to purchase one you should at least buy ammo. You might be able to trade it for a gun. Serbia user said lighters, batteries, disposable plates, cups, silverware and garbage bags were super valuable during their collapse. Stock up on vitamins too

There is a fantastic right up somewhere on the net about a guy and his family in Bosnia that actually lived this collapse doom scenario. He traded a car battery for a rifle at one point. Also lighters were a common item traded. Never leave at night and avoid going out in large groups or you become a noticeable target. Wish someone could link it.
