Actually, he addressed that saying he had overdone it for Charlotte (Though I believe he also said it was because people told him to do that) so he put no singers or bands in Kamisama and instead focuses on the OST instead. Basically the theme of this show is "back to roots", to which they are referring to Kanon and Clannad and such.
Same with baseball, it only was in the first episode so far for like a minute or two. MC is part of the baseball club and a baseball fanboy though
Did he learn from AB and CH? Who knows, he is at least aware of his mistakes, and actually seems to remain more sceptical about kamisama and if people will like it.

I used to like him and Clannad remains my favorite anime of all time, but anytime his name is attached to an original that gives me worries. Maybe his style of writing just doesn't translate to anime very well.

Four episodes in and the plot is still just there and not really kicking in apart from short scenes here and there with the Suzuki guy.
