The thing is that decent adaptations (specially if we're talking about VN adaptations) are extremely rare. . Anime usually end up being incomplete, extremely rushed and/or shit the bed with some half-assed anime original endings. Just by virtue of not shitting itself up and being a more or less decent adaptation of the source material steins gate already becomes noteworthy among other anime.

Steins definately is worthy of top 10 spot, dont know if top 2 is right for it.
FMA definately is not the best anime of all time.
And while i enjoyed Gintama, there shouldnt be 7 different seasons/movies of it in the top 25.

ratings are subjective. being no.1 doesn't mean the best anime, it means being the one the most people like over everything else. humans are not capable of 9bjective judgements because neither our sensory organs nor the grey matter with which ee interpret them are objective. an objective reality exists, but it might as well be invisible to us for how much margin for error we're working with.
I'd consider none if my most highly rated anime the best anime ever, just the anime best suited to my tastes that I've found so far
