They're the same, essentially. 2channel (2ch) is the original site founded by Hiromoot, but he had a dispute with the guy hosting the site (Jim Watkins, who also owns eight-chan these days), and in 2014 it got split into two sites that both claim to be the legit 2channel: 5channel (5ch) owned by Watkins and 2ch.sc owned by Hiro. 5ch is the big active one while Hiro's clone is basically dead. If someone uses the term "2channel" or "2ch" in current year they're referring to 5ch 99% of the time.

All this time I thought 2ch.sc was just a 5ch mirror since they seem to share the same posts. Funny thing is I live in the country where 5ch's based and yet I can't even post there unless I pay for a premium account (and I can't access BBSPINK at all and have to instead use mirrors).

2ch/5ch is all text, 2chan is an imageboard like Zig Forums.

Futaba (2chan.net) is an imageboard and the one that Zig Forums was modeled after. It's completely separate from 2ch/5ch (which are text boards) besides being founded by former users.
