some of the translations totally gut the bitchiness and sarcasm from the ship captain in episode 8 and have him be talking nice to Misato unironically when he talks about 'babysitting these kids' etc.; however there's also a good example in that ep of the Netflix translation improving the quality of the dialogue, by interpreting a line differently in such a way as to create a joke that wasn't there before- yet still accurate to the original meaning of the line
