Why can't female japanese authors write good romance?

It's always the same, you pick any manga currently being published in Hana to Yume and you'll have:
>Plain insecure girl that's not very popular
>Tall hot popular guy with no personality, serious look all the time and who shows affection towards the main girl despite having much better options at his disposal
It's always those two types. Wotakoi takes it to the next level, it's just so fucking bad. I tried reading another famous romance manga that people recommend a lot called Horimiya with high hopes, but guess what? Same old shit.

At least shonen characters have an actual personality. Women just write idealized men, they don't write reality, all of them are serious looking, expressionless, tall, hot and romantic, their male characters are generic as fuck.
