Those things evolved on their own completely regardless of any navelgazing scholars trying to study them. They could, at best, keep track of how humanity already operated. You don’t think they codified things like morality then people started adhering to their words do you? They invented those things like Aristotle invented squids- not at all. They just studied what had been there forever and maybe wrote it down.

But since it’s an inherently evil artifact it only bothers to show the worst-case scenarios with 0 hope and only the absolute bare minimum benefits.
