>a life of misery, pain, and death
Well that's literally what happens to men when they get involved with any woman, so yeah it's realist.

>a life of misery, pain, and death
That's life in general.

That’s life for a KEY protagonist, user

pretty certain only tomoyo's path was a tragedy in tomoyo after or whatever it's called, but I haven't played the games, just watched the anime

Looks like marrying Tomoyo means he dies young. Marrying Nagisa means she dies young, Tomoya becomes a drunk, and his daughter dies at 5.

Would marrying Kyou be any better? Does that path lead anywhere less shit?

Summer Pockets Tsumugi route ends in happiness

it is better than
>mary girl A and the mc become an astrounaut
>mary girl B and the mc become an actor
>mary girl C and the mc dies
I hate vn that do this. it implies that mc don't have any autonomy at all

I don't think that's what being implied here. Routes generally have different themes and entering them requires you to make certain choices that typically reflect who the MC is as a person. Fate/Stay Night is a good example of this. The Fate route is about embracing the ideals Shirou holds dear, which results in him getting entangled with Saber. HF is about rejecting them. Fate Shirou wouldn't end up with Sakura and vice versa.

I would assume one or two special routes and you end up with a relatively okay life. But Clannad routes end up with the MC or his wife dying early.

And when you think about it, the Tomoyo route means everyone else's life is worse too. No one remakes the drama club, Nagisa probably never makes a friend or even graduates. Book girl never makes a friend either, Fuko's sister never gets married and her handing out starfish was for nothing.

But the trees are saved. That's cool.

He would have been fine if he picked Fuuko

The same goes for Nagisa's path, they converted the other routes into filler for the anime but they weren't there in the game.

The drama club happens with Nagisa but I cannot remember if Kotomi's happens at the same time. Fuko vanishes with everyone forgetting her either damn way but I think you can get the soso ending with her while keeping Nagisa.

In the VN she wakes up just a few months later if you get the goof Fuko ending. Tomoya still forgets her and she still disappears. But the main Nagisa path she wakes up like 7 years later.

Yes, You can thank Maeda's trash writing for making it forced and flat on top of that.

Doe he only write human misery, dying young, amnesia, and orphans?

Still kyoanis best anime

>be a terrible father like his father
>still gets rewarded multiple times with second chances

Fuck OKAZAKI

redpill me on summer pockets, it is good as his past VN's?.

Nagisa was probably never going to make it to 30 either way if she met Okazaki or not.

It’s down to earth like Air, Kanon, Clannad, Little Busters, really captures that old Key magic again, none of those worldwide conspiracies like Rewrite and Charlotte had

Okazaki would have had a relatively decent life with Tomoyo. It's just that for some reason tragedy had to happen any fucking way and he died out of nowhere.

The only girl that was not sick her whole life, had serious hangups with dead family members, was in serious life altering accidents, or was insane.

Maeda just really wanted to write that whole "relationships are still good even if you lose people" bit combined with some actual loss for once.
Yes. And pissed off enough people that they added in a slightly different ending. Music was good though.

These were anime girls, they are not evil and manipulative pieces of flesh

>Tomoyo After
YOU FUCKERS JUST HAD TO REMIND ME
FUCK YOU MAEDA
FUCK YOU

Apparently Maeda didn't write it.

Huh that's a massive redflag, but ill give it the benefit of the doubt since it shouldn't be too hard to imitate maeda, also na-ga is still the character designer.

Cringe

Tomoya just out of the blue dying in the Tomoyo story seemed pointless, and just for sad. It was bad enough that marriage to Nagisa means Tomoya's life is shit. This just make it that he has no options of a non-shit life

Same with the Kyo path. Nagisa never makes any friends or even goes to the school. So Fuuko never makes friends with them and her sister never gets married. He never reconnects with Kotomi.

It seems like the choice is Okazaki lives a shitty life but helps everyone else, or he has a normal life and everyone else is friendless and never accomplishes anything.
