Watanagashi was the lamest original higu arc, it's redeemed by Meakashi but on its own it's pretty lame compared to onikakushi and tatarigoroshi

The question arcs were a snorefest, Onikakushi being the first had some shock value going for it when going through the first time but it's still an awful reread.

True, Onikakushi is only really good the first time but it serves its purpose well. Watanagashi is just dull because you hardly see anything happen, but it gets a pass for being a good set up for Meakashi. Tatarigoroshi is probably the best question arc but still pales in comparison to the answer arcs.

When he's talking with Shannon and George there and Beatrice shows up to torture them, it's made clear that "accepting the Rokkenjima deaths as simple magic from a witch" is a massive COPE and blinding yourself instead of trying to find the truth.
As Shannon and George are exploding in blood or something they beg him to deny Beatrice and "avenge them" by finding the real truth.

Battler isn't really "denying magic", he's aware that he woke up in some weird space talking to Beato after all that happened in the island... but he IS denying magic on that specific day because it'd be the same as accepting it was all meaningless
