It was pretty cringe I assume. I don't really understand people who watched anime pre Sword Art Online(a.k.a SAO) anyway. It was all bland, boring and ugly.
People saying that anime is dead. I don't have the screenshots but someone can post them
exactly the same. whether bbs, IRC or early imageboard, every single discussion got derailed by reitards and asukafags duking it out in the ultimate battle that will last until the end of time. so has it been this last half-century, and so shall it be for all years to come. Amen

Have you ever been so far?
Guy complains about yuri anime in 1992
That's nothing. Hayao Miyazaki has Animage interviews bitching about anime over a decade earlier.
Time for anime to grow up, 1995.
Here's an actual video of what the internet looks like in 1998. The guy goes to a bunch of anime websites in 1998, and plays a lot of songs that were popular with Western otaku at the time. This video's a time capsule.
Learn English, faggot.
>1994
>Economy doing well
Weebs truly never knew shit about nippon did them?
>anime turnpike
I want to go back.
Meanwhile in 1996
>modern anime is all moeshit, give me the classics!
the more things change, the more they stay the same
I want to be back in 2006.
>low normalfag concentrations
>anime still a nerd hobby
>good balance between moe and plot driven shit
>internet speed high enough for good downloads, but not streaming
>pantyshots still existed in anime
It still exists, but all the links are dead. Quite sad.

There's still a decent balance between "moe" and "plot"
I'd say that there's more "plot" than "moe" in an average season
Moe's really dwindled away compared to how dominant it was in the mid-2000s, yeah.
Do you ever look up old fansub groups? Sometimes their stale, dead sites are still online. And I feel nostalgia and depression.
>Hating kawaii shit this much
Is this an example of extreme cute aggression?
You want to feel real depression? Finding archived fansites for various anime or manga that haven't been updated since 1998-2003ish.
Who pays for hosting this?
nvm saw geocities and realized it's a dumb question
Sometimes you can find real gems digging late 90s and early 00s anime websites. I coincidentally came across this on accident just now and I'm working on an RPG Maker game.
