"Gilgamesh is the strongest servant"

I have hated this statement for the better part of 14 years now; Gilgamesh has repeatably been shown to not even compare to some of the true powerhouses in the Nasuverse, and there are plenty of servants who outshine him.

This was egregious at the start, but only got worse as time went on and more and more bullshit Servants came out.

Off the top of my head, these are servants that could beat Gil in a 1-on-1 fight
Karna (just completely outclasses Gil in every aspect)
Quetzalcoatl (IMO not many servants exist that CAN outperform her)
Alcides (lol he slaps gil around like a ragdoll
Solomon (duh)
Beowulf (One of the few truly insane servants from a lore perspective, how does this dude ever lose a fight?)
King Hassan (Duh)
Nobunaga (holy shit does the new series show off how terrifying she is)
Edmond Dantes (Situational, but this guy is insane)
Vlad III (Also situational, but Gil doesn't have anything in GOB that can put down Dracula for good, since it requires specific divine intervention and Gil doesn't have anything not made by humans. Yes, it requires Vlad to actually USE Dracula, which is a stretch, but if it happened Gil would LOSE)
Enkidu (Duh)

I love how arrogantly he claims to be unaffected by Angra Mainju when it's pretty clear to everyone that the mud of the grail changed him between Zero and SN

How come fate is so popular in japan when you need an IQ of 200 to appreciate it? Is japan a nation of superhumans?

>Gil doesn't have anything not made by humans.
>forgetting that Ea was made by gods
The only reason Gil loses to anyone is because he's a massive jobber who forgets that he has a weapon can destroy the World if used properly.

>Ea was, specifically, gifted to him by the gods of his Era
>It has been stated multiple times that beyond EA, there exists no item in his golden vault not made by human hands.

>>It has been stated multiple times that beyond EA, there exists no item in his golden vault not made by human hands.
>Enkidu
>Harpe
>Vajra
>Vimana
Please don't confuse your headcanon for statements.

>Nobunaga (holy shit does the new series show off how terrifying she is)
What

Bait, but I'll bite
>Karna
Lost in CCC and admitted he'd need a whole party just to match Gilgamesh in Extella. Ea is also confirmed stronger than Karna's one-off Vasavi
>Quetzalcoatl
We've seen Babylonia to know this is horeshit. Ea shits on Xiuhcoatl and PdS
>Alcides
>Ishtar-sama. Humbaba-dono. SAVE ME!
Nuff said.
>Solomon
I can grant you this one. Solomon's full capacity is what created Goetia after all.
>Beowulf
Lost to Shuwen
>King Hassan
Same as Quetzalcoatl. Dude got outshown in Babylonia.
>Vlad
Vlad is a worse Gilgamesh in every fucking way. And he's weak to flames or sunlight. Literally born to get fucked in the ass by Gram.

Based

Reminder to all gilfags.

>Mashu

Gugalanna
Humbaba
Altera
Tiamat

How many have your favorite servants beaten, bros?

Gil has nothing on Quetz. A Quetz with 2/3 of her divine authority gone already is a challenge for Gil. You've also gotta be crazy to think Hassan wouldn't be able to kill Gil. I honestly don't know what you think is "outclassing" when none of these servants fought each other. You know, just because Gil used Ea to do the last hit against Tiamat it doesn't mean he is stronger than the other two. He wouldn't even be able to win without them. Hassan is a threat even for gods, Gil don't stand a chance.

Are you serious? Quetz illustrates in Babylonia that there’s basically no other servant that can rival her, and if she wanted to win she could have.

>Gil has nothing on Quetz
>Kingu who is significantly weaker than Enkidu due to having no experience with the body fights Quetz equally at her prime
No.
>A Quetz with 2/3 of her divine authority gone already is a challenge for Gil.
Try 50% you liar. And 50% of her divinity couldn't stop Tiamat for more 5 seconds and did no damage. Literally stated by Roman to have done no damage. Gilgamesh vaporized Tiamat with Ea in her dragon form, where nothing had been able to scratch her.

>Hassan is a threat even for gods

Gilgamesh made a legend of himself killing beings stronger than his own gods. Ishtar is the strongest goddess of her mesopotamian era and she can't win against him or Enkidu individually.

>wrong
>enkidu does the job
>holy shit gil drop your ego and smash him
>unless it's inside the temple the odds are minimal
>No
>golden armor counters KH
>FFS
>he can reduce him to atoms then to pure energy if the need calls to, countering regeneration was never a problem to AUO.
>Gaia buffs!! remember that one time avalon stopped enuma elish despite it being theoretically impossible , same thing .

>Quetz illustrates in Babylonia that [Headcanon]
Is that why she was unable to harm Tiamat while Gilgamesh could obliterate Tiamat's stronger form?
> no other servant
Fucking meme. Buddha and Kama would make Quetz their bitch.

>Karna
>Alcides
But he already won against those 2?
Also didnt nasu says that nobu's tenka fubu and demon king of the six heaven doesnt buff her enough to deal with top tier servants?
Sakura literally tells you that he wasnt being affected by the mud and she could only eats him and not making him her servant.
How much the mud affects you depends of your ego, same reason Rin didnt go insane in UBW.

>remember that one time avalon stopped enuma elish despite it being theoretically impossible , same thing .
Isnt the whole point of avalon that ea didnt touch the thing? Thats why gil says that saber is cheating, avalon isnt a shield.

>Muh Quetzalcoatl
Fuck Gilgamesh, but I can't stand how overrated this bitch is thanks to FGO secondaries who go mad at pretty animation. Quetz is a shitter. Her biggest contribution in Babylonia is throwing the axe of Marduk. She's useless everywhere else. She can't handle more than a handful of Lahmu where Kingu kills 6000 in one move. She uses her noble phantasm and doesn't incur a wound on Tiamat. Gorgon was the one who had to crack and break the horn in the game.

The anime actually made Quetz a lot more impressive by having her fuse both of her noble phantasms to overload her container, crack the horn and get through a bunch of Tiamat's shields (she was CS'd at some point). But the anime made a lot of characters look way stronger (Ushi and Gilgamesh) or some weaker (King Hassan and Kingu). But nothing Quetz ever did was strikingly impressive. She was stronger than everyone in Uruk? Big deal. You had a bunch of nerfed gods and Casgilgamesh who just got out of a coma and was poorly recovering his magic power due to all the responsibilities he had.

And that 50% divinity loss is just a way to save face. 2 x 0 is still 0.

Quetz is fucking overrated.

retard

Quetz was the first demiurge to appear in FGO and it feels like her only purpose is to hype Tiamat and grands/equivalents as beyond gods.

Of that list, only Solomon might be stronger. And probably not, since Ea>YHWH

>alcides
lmao he put gil on life support
alcides has surpassed the golden king

>lmao he put gil on life support
Correction
Humbaba put Gil on life-support, with some help from Ishtar.

quetz attacked before tiamat had the concept of death placed on her by king hassan, also gil used ea only after tiamat was in the underworld and had her trump card shutdown by ritsuka.

humbaba did nothing but appear
alcides did all the work. Nine lives was BTFOing GoB and the hydra arrows were gonna finish off gil anyway
ishtar made it happen even quicker

gorgon broke a horn thus doing more damage without tiamat having the concept of death either
your point?

Retard. Nine lives only hit Gil because Ishtar got a hold of the key, and even after that he was still going to use the NP that were already out. Alciades by his own admission can at most get a 50% chance with the absurd amount of mana his master had stocked up.

Imagine jobbing to an autistic ginger kid

>Doesn’t have anything not made my humans
Want to know how I know your a secondary? He literally has everything made by men and gods alike in his vault.

Gilgamesh, King of Heroes.
Eons ago, in what was later called Mesopotamia, there reigned a great king who would become the hero of the land. During the early days of an age in which the gods still lived, and people had greater power as individuals than they do now, this hero, born of a union between man and god, ruled over the fortress-city Uruk.
He was known as both a despot who destroyed his country, and as a king who stood on the precipice of history and brought the land into a new age. Regardless of what end he met, the fact remained that Uruk flourished as a nation of magnificent splendor under the rule of Gilgamesh. His vault was said to contain all of the works of gods and men, and it was rumored that they were the original versions of all Noble Phantasms used by heroes of later ages.

>It has been [Headcanon]
No, it hasn’t.

>concept of death
Concept of death means that Tiamat is killable. It does not weaken her durability, which was much higher than her previous form. Niggas need to read up on what this shit actually means. There's a reason Tiamat was still tanking attacks left and right even after getting the concept of death placed on her. Ea was by far the strongest np used in Babylonia.

>humbaba did nothing but appear
The gates to the treasury of Babylon that held every last one of the king’s treasures, to the vault said by some to still exist somewhere in the world and by other to exist in other space entirely, had all shut.
Gilgamesh himself, of course, would not do such a thing.
But was there anyone else who could?
It was impossible.
In the fractions of a second it took Gilgamesh to reach that conclusion, the hero-slaying poisoned arrows were still closing in on him.
But this Gilgamesh was neither conceited nor careless.
Refusing to despair so soon, he attempted to bring the Noble Phantasms he had already fired to bear to counter them, when . . .

“— __ — _ — _ — ____ — __ —”

“It” bore a strange resemblance to the song of the earth that Enkidu had sung on the first day.
“It” resounded throughout Snowfield without warning, becoming a cacophony that scrambled the brains of everyone there.
What set “it” apart from Enkidu was the timbre.
“It” was not a beautiful singing voice ringing out in praise of the land and its people . . .
“It” was the resentful roar of a twisted monster that seemed to curse the whole world.
---

--
The next instant, a seven-colored halo shot from the steel colossus, twisted and tapered into something like the head of a jackhammer . . . and plunged straight into Gilgamesh’s belly.

>anti-gilfags are tertiaries or headcanon shitters. Who'd have thought?

Ah, so it's one of these threads.

Gil is the archetypical hero. The main character of the oldest heroic epic preserved by mankind. Every myth that follows The Epic of Gilgamesh is derivative and in comparison lacking originality.

>But there's heroes with flashier abilities in /Grand Order and /Extra and /Apocrypha

Different means of summoning and different class containers as an effect of coming from alternate realities and different grail war systems. Gil in the VN cannon is already super gimped by the Archer class container and master bound mana constraints.

Metatextually and conceptually Gilgamesh is probably the greatest hero. There might be greater beings in the realm of deities, great old ones and personifications of concepts. When it comes to heroics Gil is second to none.
