Part 4. More fun, more colourful, I prefer the characters and less drawn out.

Second half of Part 3 > Part 4 > First half of Part 3.

Imo Part 7> Part 4 > Part 2 > Part 3 > Part 1(Grows into being great) > Part 5(Starts off a Mary Sue)

Make Yoshikage a threat from the beginning lol, the only person of significance we saw him kill off was a literal retard. A part with a serial killer who ends up accomplishing nothing, what a waste of time.

Part 4 has an objectively better cast aside from Shigechi and the story is actually interesting instead of just being villain of the week.
Part 3 is pure adventure though and has a very good antagonist, but that's about it.
Part 5's still better than both (because it's just part 3 but not shitty and not slice of life like part 4) and Part 7 is better than everything listed prior.

4 is better, but 3 is a better adaption of its manga than 4's is aside from a few decisions like skipping the sidewalk driving scene.

nevermind Hayato's father, Reimi, Cinderella girl, or anyone else that was discussed as him murdering and getting away with as he was a fucking non-in your face serial killer and all you needed to see was his psychosis once to get the message. I think part 4 had a better cast but part 3 utilized the cast better if that makes sense. But the two were going for two sperate atmospheres and goals. I think a part3 vs part5 discussion would have more merit.
