>she sees your diary
Well, user, do you suppose anyone would be impressed by it?
Majo no tabitabitabitabitabitabi
no, because its non existant

This series is just badly written. I remember people defending episodes 3 and 4, saying "Elaina is just a neutral observer," but then she moralizes and grandstands in this episode. It feels like something I would write when I was 15, with no understanding of characterization, or structure.
I know I’m getting the banhammer but you asked for this
She only acted this time because she got roped in with Saya, but yea I still get your point
If she was JUST involved, and it was Saya who gave that big fucking speech, I wouldn't really care, but I remember people throwing around the term "moralfag" over Elaina's actions in episode 3. Yet here,s he had a big fucking hero speech about how forcing people to tell the truth is wrong.
It's just not there, man. It's not smart, it's not well written. People confused bad writing for an author trying to do something different.
I had such middling hopes for this series, but it just keeps getting worse and worse with each new episode.
Where is the bottom ad?
Why is she crawling?
Like, what happened in this episode is what people were mocking others for wanting to happen in episode 3.
>"Oh, you wanted Elaina to stop the zombie invasion? You wanted Elaina to save the slave girl? Life isn't a Marvel movie, moralfag. She had no obligation to get involved. She's not a shonen protagonist. She's just a witch on a JOURNEY!"
If Elaina was consistent with that characterization, she would've learned about the witch who gave up her magic and voice, and just did nothing. Leave, and maybe comment on the country's future.
Elaina is too scared to do anything by herself but it's okay if she does it with her girlfriend
im in love with this tomboy
Did you forget the part where Saya showed up? That's the whole reason why she decided to help this time. They got surrounded and she had no choice but to help because Saya was busy with the guards. You guys are trying way to hard to hate this anime.
Did you not read the previous post I made? Literally what I quoted? Elaina didn't just get involved. She had a big fucking hero speech to the king about how it was wrong to force people to tell the truth. She played the shonen protagonist. She played the Marvel character. She did EVERYTHING everyone was praising her for not doing in episode 3.
And there was no flip switch. There was no Uncle Ben getting murdered moment that instilled this sense of morality into her. She's a freaky "neutral observer" in episode 3, and Naruto in episode 6.
The comedy in this episode was just cringe. Only the king commenting on the sword was actually a little funny
HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGH
Well first of all she couldn't lie. Second of all, whats wrong with trying to talk some sense into the dude? That was hardly a "big shounen speech"? The characterization is fine. You people bitch if she doesn't do anything and then when she finally does, you still bitch.
My friend Saya!
I don't like Saya.
>You people bitch if she doesn't do anything and then when she finally does, you still bitch.
Yes, because it makes her prior actions look crazier. It's called consistent characterization. She had no development leading to this. She didn't converse with Fran, and get told, "hey, you need to step up more" (which could have legitimately happened last episode if they wanted!). She was a fucking sociopath apparently like, a brief blip on the radar, and it's not commented on. It's not brought up again. It's like they want us to ignore that shit even happened. Episode 3, and episode 4 to a smaller extent are bizarre, and honestly, depending on how this series ends, might be advisable to just straight up skip, cause some of the stuff she does in those shows can taint what it looks like the rest of the series is trying to do.
People were praising it for not being a silly lighthearted magical adventure, but we're 4 for 6 on that now.
SHE'S SO CUTE AAAAAAAAAAA
>episodes 3 and 4
>someone is doing something bad and elaina lets them get away with it
>episode 6
>someone is doing something morally objectively good
>elaina instantly goes into action to put an end to it
I'm noticing a connection.
She wasn't doing this because of her own moral compass though. Her speech at the end was just her advice and parting words of wisdom, not some commandment to force the king to do things her way.
Her actions were only because of Saya, and to help the other witch. She didn't care what the king was doing otherwise.
Why didn't she sell her body?
She's mute so that's a plus too.
She didn't have a friend with her in previous episodes. The development here was Saya. Just drop the show already bro. I've been enjoying it so far but you faggots are so far up your own asses its ridiculous.
>not some commandment to force the king to do things her way.
...You say that as she broke into his house, and destroyed the sword, while telling him his beliefs were wrong. Ridiculous. Ridiculous. Elaina is a mess of a character. If she just destroyed the sword, fine. She's just doing whatever she wants, and I can accept her as being an egotist with too much power. But now she's acting like she has some authority over what's right and wrong.
I'm watching the series with a friend, so I'm kind of stuck with it. And nah. There wasn't some nudge that pushed Elaina into something right, or correct, because of Saya. Nothing was directed that way. She just does whatever the author wants to happen, and is convenient for the immediate events he wants to proceed on paper.
>>someone is doing something morally objectively good
controlling someones speech is never good
Where are the fucking people saying that Elaina couldn't get involved with saving the slave in episode 3? Cause she clearly is fine with assaulting entire rulers of countries. I don't think you can get much more "I'm above the law" than that.
I never wrote one but if I did it nowadays it would just list the anime and games I consume everyday, the threads I posted in and the current fanart I am working on so I doubt.
Nice attack rush
Saya is part of the magic association and was taking a request to unfuck the country by that one witch. Saya is also Elaina's friend. How does it not make sense to help your friend out that you haven't seen in a while? The magic association deals with magic bullshit like this and as you can see, all the citizens were miserable. It was hardly being "above the law". They also peacefully entered the castle instead of just busting their way in with magic. The goal was just to destroy the sword and not assault anyone.
my diary d.esu
elaina only helped out because he protégé was there and asked for her help
The people in the country weren't locked in from anything shown or stated. The magic didn't stick with them when they left. It wasn't a super great situation, but it's hilarious that Elaina decided to moralize on THIS adventure compared to any others. Again. She didn't just help. She had a big fucking speech where she told the king what was right and wrong. What's more, is they did fight the guards, and they did attack the king.
No. It's just terribly written, man. Slavery is bad, but you can't do shit. Forcing people to tell the truth, which is shown to be... kinda not great, but not the end of the world? You storm a castle, and assault a country's ruler.
Bear in mind, I'm not against Elaina being a hero. I would have sincerely LIKED her to learn from her actions in episode 3, because they made her looks insane. But there's nothing. She is just good girl protagonist now. And it's over something SO much smaller than what she could have grandstanded over before. Zombies? Slavery? Mass death? Nah. The inability to fib is where she draws the line.
>magic association
>unfuck the country
I see, so she's part of the CIA... giving the much needed "freedom" to "terrible" countries...
