Serious question. Can SSRI help me with my depression?

Yep. But it can take some trial and error before you land on the right drug and dosage.

No

Look what happened to Dr. Peterson, he is a fucking wreck now, despite SSRI (even though benzo abuse was probably his main problem)

Making it cures depression.

No just stop watching porn and go to the gym. You are a man, genetically bred for war, go fuckin exercise

No. Juden Peterstein advocates for SSRIs and not only got addicted to pills, the cucker is on life support

meds are mind control

No, those kike pills are designed to prolong depression and also make you retarded.

Sure have fun with the whole feeling like a robot/zero emotion, dick starts acting weird, and the weight gain. People will wonder why you aren’t depressed!

SNRI are better, I also just started NDRI's on the side of the SNRI. We'll see how it goes from here

just get some real drugs ffs. ever tried LSD?

get fresh air and sunlight. fix your diet. start exercising. acquire self-knowledge. read a few self-help books, cbt, emdr, etc. my view is that SSRIs should only be used as a temporary measure to get someone's head above water long enough to do the above.

Just take some shrooms or ketamine. Get high AND not be depressed.

Just started Wellbutrin. Not an SSRI but not really liking it so far. Going to see it through.

I fuck with the DRNS's, helps with my depression big time, and anxiety!

I think maybe the benzos, zero sleep, high stress job, blacked daughter and dying wife have more to do with it.

I've been taking ketamine whenever I feel below baseline for the last year and a half. It works but I hate being under. A lot of anxiety and fear comes to the surface. Kind of worried it's going to give me brain damage down the road.

Men are bred to farm you fucking dunce.

They use ketamine in clinics now for PTSD treatment. Never tried it myself, but it sounds effective.

No, (((psychiatry))) is a meme. The kikes that peddle that garbage don't even understand how they're supposed to work and the risk of your dick not working for the rest of your life is too great.

You're better off just taking steroids. You'll feel better, make gains with fewer side effects than antidepressants.

If however, you actually have clinical depression, go to the mountains somewhere and take a big dose of magic mushrooms or LSD to reboot/fix your brain.

Clinical depression is a medical condition that is pretty much debilitating that typically only lasts for a few weeks, few months max.

If you are simply feeling blue/unhappy because your life is garbage, then that is not depression. That's just a normal reaction to your circumstances. Get your shit together and that feeling will go away.

If you just feel sad for a longer period of time, then you're not depressed, simply unhappy.

It can turn you into a hollow bonerless meat bag, or a spree killer.

Those clinics bleed people dry. They're basically just really expensive babysitters. If you don't mind going the dark net market route and injecting you can do it yourself and save a lot of money.

What? Antidepressants are really well understood lmao, their method of effect is known more than paracetemol. I'm not against doing other things first but if you write off antidepressants then you write off literally all of medicine.

Have you tried antidepressants?

Yeah, saved my entire life. When i was 19 i was viciously depressed, had a nasty childhood and it poisoned everything. Began failing college, contemplated killing myself daily, had no interpersonal relations as i assumed the worst of everyone. Eventually i was just going odd and getting into a really dark place and had to see counsellors because i wasn't attending college, then got referred to GP and then given citalopram. Honestly within half a year i had a new life, more than anything it broke the cycle. I began to see it wasn't normal how I felt and i saw what normal happiness was like, started getting on with people. Stopped taking them after about 7 months and have literally never looked back. This was 9 years ago now.

If you are wondering if you're depressed chances are you have been for a long time and just not noticed the slow collapse.

If your depression is crippling maybe drugs are ok. However, it would be way better to find a natural solution. Rather than a bandaid solve the actual issue. Excercise, make positive changes in your life, get out in the sun, do something productive. Add up lots of little things and you will see your life improve slowly. Stick with it user. Hopefully its just a phase. I was depressed and now I am satisfied with life. Do you know Christ? These times are full of wickedness. Whether it helps your depression or not it is time for all anons to look to the lord. We are in the midst of a great spiritual battle and every last one of us from the least to the greatest is needed.

Janies and janny accomplices get the rope. user wants some help he gets some help.

No, but im a doc (gen surg) and had to read all about drugs, pharmokinetics, evidence etc. Antidepressants are literally the best of medicine, amazingly well evidenced, very effective. It's actually a tragedy that people argue against them.

Sure try lifestyle changes first, obviously, any doctor says that about anything. But antidepressants will work and well.

I just tried Celexa earlier this year (for about 4 months) but then I took myself off. Here's why:
>Blunted emotions all around.
>Loss of joy/exuberance.
>Too content sitting around doing nothing.
>Diminished empathy, caring less about others in general.
>Trouble sleeping and waking up normally.
>Strange cramping in hands and feet to the point that I can't drive my car.

And other negative symptoms. But I decided that my depression had just been covered up by a drug and this wasn't worth it.

>Clinical depression is a medical condition that is pretty much debilitating that typically only lasts for a few weeks, few months max.
lmao

source:your ass

Lmao if "loss of joy" and "sleeping issues" represent unacceptable or even possible side effects on antidepressants then you plainly weren't depressed to begin with, just a lil puss

>Antidepressants are literally the best of medicine
>Sure try lifestyle changes first, obviously, any doctor says that about anything
Bullshit.
I've never had a doc tell me to fix my diet or exercise more.
You ALL jump to subscribing these SSRIs before anything else in my experience.
And guess what? Magnesium and fish oil supplements were FAR more effective at curing my depression and anxiety than an SSRI.
Placebo?
NO, it's science. Fuck you "doctors" who don't know shit about natural well-being.

take phenibut

I've been through the same shit and I'm still struggling.
I was put on antidepressants at the end of high school. The drugs made me drowsy and I ended up failing half of my classes because of it. Now I'm 20 yo without a job and proper education.
I cant say that it's entirely the antidepressants fault, because I barely had any motivation to begin with, but they definitely did not make my situation any better.
The only things that has helped me battle depression is psychedelics. I wish I had gone the alternative route instead of using antidepressants desu.

>losing ability to feel extreme happiness is totally fine
kys nigger no one asked for your opinion

There are cochrane and lancet metaanalyses of ssris and other antidepressants user. They're literally in the highest level of evidenced medicines.

>I've never had a doc tell me to fix my diet or exercise more.
>You ALL jump to subscribing these SSRIs before anything else in my experience.
You're not wrong. What are your symptoms, here's your pill, see you in 3 months.

It works amazingly well for anxiety, but its super addictive in the long run. I've been off it for over a year now.

If you were feeling happiness at anything and even more cared whether it went or came you weren't depressed, just a lil puss puss, probably still are :)

Sorry user that's terrible. Is it cancer?

"It's not known exactly how antidepressants work."

At best, medical professionals speculate that antidepressants affect neurotransmitters in the brain, however there are no consistent results.
Psychiatrists are literally just winging it using drugs they barely understand.

Also funny that you should mention it, doctors literally have no idea how paracetamol works.

nurofen.com.au/about-nurofen/advice/what-is-paracetamol-what-do-i-use-paracetamol-for/

"No one knows exactly how paracetamol works, but scientists think that it works mainly in the central nervous system"

"A major depressive episode (MDE) is characterized by five or more of the following symptoms being present every day, or almost every day, for a minimum of two weeks"
ada.com/conditions/depressive-episode/

I looked into it and you're somewhat right. Episodes can last sometimes be longer, Six months is possible for a depressive episode. I still stand by the rest though.

You sure are illiterate if you're actually a doctor.
Re-read my comment.
My issue is that "doctors" such as yourself jump to prescribing these drugs which drastically alter brain chemistry in an unnatural manner instead of addressing dietary deficiencies that have been PROVEN to cause depression and anxiety.
Your drugs are addressing the symptoms and not the actual issue.
