Forgot it was JC staff for a solid minute. I was thinking how weird it'd be for the author to ok that stuff but of fucking course JC staff wouldn't care.
It's generally hated. It had an anime original story with an anime original enemy. It also didn't adapt one of the best moments in the manga .

The manga is a decent read.
I've been reading it for years now so I might just be biased, but it's pretty fun with some great characters.
It's not anything revolutionary though, but if you're just looking for a decent manga to read I'd recommend it.
