Yeah, this chapter was basically a betrothal. In chronological order:
>Mie mentions her future goals back in kindergarten when she wanted to marry her father after in the last chapter she said that Kaede reminds her of her father
>she then admitted that her current aspiration is to get married and be a good housewife
>she shows a picture of omurice she made recently, with maple leaf painted on it (Kaede = maple, so she drew his name on her "housewife training" meal)
>after realising what she just showed him she ran away embarrassed
>Kaede tried drawing the same thing on his omurice, then realised what that meant
>picrelated
>next day in school, in the field asking who he wants to be in the future he writes "Mie-san's husband"
>he tries to erase it, but Mie catches him before he gets the whole thing
>she just sees "husband"
>asks whose husband he wants to be
>he bullshits his way out and says that nobody in particular
>Mie gets mad/jealous at that
