Bright greens, blues and purples have become rare too. Whenever they appear it's mostly in muted tones, which kinda sucks. I miss the bold rainbow hair colors.

Because after the end of evangelion released the entire reserves of orange color in japan got used up. All the orange color in japan currently is through imports, and because of that it's too expensive for anime production.
