Okay, I'm pretty sure Mion was the one on the phone this time at the end of this episode. She was calling to see if K1 was lying to her about going into the shed, and heard how upset he was being essentially forced into the shrine by Shion. Which is why she hung up on him.
She probably confronted Shion right after that and either got throw in the cage for her trouble like the original time line or Shion did this time.

I have a genuine question from somebody who has all but forgotten a lot of major plotpoints from Higurashi.
Exactly what stops Rika from just gathering all her friends and trying to tell them the truth about the loops? I mean, here's the thing, everyone or at least Keiichi already gets memories of past events. Keiichi would be easily inclined to believe her. And if Rika memorizes which 'arc' the current one is, can she not predict several things that the others might be expecting to happen soon? Is this not worth a try? Or has Rika said she already attempted this and it didn't work anyway? I am tired and I might just be missing something extremely obvious that I've already read. But I don't remember a rule like this from reading it.
