Is literally anyone else reading SHY?

Discovered this manga by complete random two days ago, binged all of it, and was met with absolutely no recognition for it anywhere. Anyone here reading it?

I do. The series is good to binge but a drag to read weekly, chapters always seem too short. The Russia Arc felt like an eternity.

Oof, yeah, that seems like it'd happen. I binged half of it in one night and the other half in the morning, I was so engrossed. And checking the artist's twitter, the translation is actually 8 chapters behind, and this arc is far from over...

I do, hoping for a lady black arc next.

Stardust is the cutest.

is this about superheroes? ive never seen or heard of this

Sell me on it OP, read a couple of chapters and it seems generic.

I read it cause I thought it was gonna be gay

Well, it *is* generic. If you're going into a story expecting a very unique hook, you're not gonna find it in SHY. If you want simple but strong themes, paired with a wide cast of well-realized, fantastically developed and very human characters, with many subversions of dumb tropes of superheroes, like ignoring civilian casualties for high-power spectacle, or solving everything via beatdowns, then you'll enjoy SHY. It's just doing what most superhero stories don't really do, while still keeping those simple themes of the kindness of humanity and the desire and struggle to save *everyone* at heart.

I'd say give it until chapter 10 or 11. If, knowing that it's not gonna be "unique", but just very very well-made, by then, you're still not vibing with it, it's safe to drop.

It gets pretty gay when the yuri angel appears.

Boku no fag academy but with yuri and way more boring, enjoy.

I mean, the only similarities it has are an MC with little confidence and being about superheroes. None of its themes correlate, the MC is still plenty different, the tone is way different, none of them are heroes in training...

i was half way through this and forgot about it. thank you for reminding me. Shy is cute.

i want to protect her but i also want to see her being bullied so i can protect her more

lewdly embarrassing Shy and making Shy shy!

I like it but I'm kinda hating how every fucking bad guy has a sob story to excuse torturing innocent people

>solving everything via beatdowns
Honestly after reading all the way through and seeing what the villains' do to people especially with the people trapped in the bubble in the current arc they deserve to get Franked hard. Vodka girl's mom is the only one I actually felt bad for everyone else is a prick torturing people under the guise of "ending sadness" by replacing it with pain. Worst part is I know Shy is not only gonna fail to do what needs to be done but get in the way of someone else like Stardust who WILL. Still in the end the book is great

Isn't Shy just a better Deku?

Yes, but only because she's female. Deku's traits are repulsing on a male, but on a female they foster feelings of wanting to protect. Deku should have been a girl.
