The thing is though, 99% of Mikasa’s character is EREN EREN EREN. In the event Historia ends up being the mother of Eren’s child, and I do think this is quite likely with this chapter implying she lied about her due-date and the whole life-death juxtaposition, Mikasa becomes too obsolete because Isayama never bothered to give her development outside Eren. It all becomes worse when you realize the mother in question had things going for her character outside of her relationship with Eren.

Jean should have been in the Yeagerist and should have had thoughts of his mother's fate if Eren is stopped, that would have given diversity of actions and ideologies to the main cast, I'd argue connie should have been a yeagerist too since his mom was titanized and his best friend was killed by the warriors. They could have been perfectly written off without dying or participating in the port battle and just stationed anywhere else.

The problem is the manga evolved without needing Armin, yet Isayama is uncapable of dropping Armin when he dropped other characters, plots and many opportunities.
Eren could perfectly end the genocide by leaving the 10% of the survivors terrified and learning their lesson, but isayama needs to force the Mong to stop Eren.
Read chapter 134 without the alliance parts and it improves. It's like he doesn't want to accept the manga would work without Armin
