I miss ARC-V.
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Based trips
i too miss when yugioh anime is actually yugioh anime, and not Duel Monster anime
Same, I miss having a good Yu-Gi-Oh! and a Yu-Gi-Oh! that was actually Yu-Gi-Oh!
Sevens was horrible and Vrains was easily the weakest series before it came out.
Idea for a new Yu-gi-oh series?
Yugioh ... with Horror character
shadow game 'n shiet
DM prequel showing us what really happend in ancient Egypt. Season 5 didnt show us enough and it basicaly boiled down of being a boardgame RPG retelling of the ancient past that skimmed over a lot of things like the actual extent of priest Seto's rebellion.
Also, go with DSOD/Pyramid of Light-tier animations instead of the wonky animation that season 5 had.
>Not DM sequel with Little Yugioh's adventure WITHOUT ACTUALLY YAMI BAIL OUT AGAIN GODDAMINIT
A more faithful adaptation of the manga, though that'll never happen.
>actual extent of priest Seto's rebellion.
Wasn't he just win a duel and the Atem let him have the throne since Atem have to seal up Zorg?
Nah, Yugi is just too boring. Show us more of Atem and Seto, those two are far more interesting.
Nah, just set people on fire.
Animated Yugioh R
I want Yu-Gi-Oh! XXX where a chad MC duels women and when they lose LP their clothes disappear or when the monsters attack directly it's sexual in nature.
Season 1 is still the best season, I've been rewatching the anime recently and it's ridiculous how good everything is right untill Synchro starts.
I still remember the joke on how Yuzu was having her own Shojo anime arc while Yuya was having his own arc at the same time, holy shit it's so true for Season 01
A relatable MC set in the current age as much as possible. It'd need to be DM or GX time-line and even then technology has gotten pretty crazy...
You know what? A hard reset. Fucking forget all of the currently existing lore and characters and introduce a modern "real world" with card games that manifest real spirits to fight in duels. Don't make it a mass-produced game. I've always found it dumb how the could just beat the shit out of each other but these super muscular villains just whip out their duel disk and accept to play a card game. Try to make this an alternate mature take on Yugioh similarly to what Digimon does on its videogames, completely ignoring previous iterations and doing their own new thing to attract the adult crowd.
If that's not possible, the bare minimum requirement is to go back to DM/GX era and stop with the futuristic crap. And construct a good plot that isn't just an excuse to play cards. Duel monsters? I watched it for Yugi's story, the duels were irrelevant, it was at its core about discovering the Pharaoh's past and stopping some psychos
GX was ALL about cards but it was so cheeky and fun it's impossible to hate the ridiculousness.
Mystery-themed series. Main character goes around solving cases in town. Duel Police and shady organizations for later arcs, Conan-style. MC has a deduction-based deck and sets up Sherlock "The case is solved!" moments when they figure out how to win.
About that hard reset, again, I freaking hate how it's a card game that apparently everyone agrees to play with instead of just kicking or shooting their enemy or, hell, summoning a monster if they're so dangerous and just ordering it to attack the other guy before he can react.
A mature Yugioh anime would get rid of the concept of duel monsters as a mass produced card game and it'd work more similarly to other battle shonen like Jojo, Pokémon, Digimon Tamers or Hunter x Hunter I dunno.
Make it so these cards are actually a spiritual thing some people happen to get, and fights aren't a strict game with rules (or perhaps, introduce the rules as a spiritual thing people are forced to follow on once a fight starts). No holographic bullshit that much I tell you.
A typical fight would have the MC summoning the spirit from a card and it fighting against the enemy boss by using different abilities intrinsic to the monster (again, just like Jojo powers) with the occasional boost with spells and traps against the enemy, but this wouldn't be following hard turns because it's supposed to be a real monster fight. Perhaps include something about how summoning more than 1 strong monster puts strain on the user, but weak monsters are fine.
Also at the very least include one scene with the villain being protected by his monster and taking down an armed squad just to show that yes, these things are dangerous
Basically I think Yugioh as an anime could be really good if it wasn't shackled by being considered a card game in-universe, Zexal especially felt like it'd have been a kickass mecha series but the rules hold it down.
Duel Terminal-verse anime.
fuck that boring shit
so, SMT anime?
This but with Dragma instead of apocalypse of the week terminal.
>Noone say about Kaiji style Anime, with dmagic 'n demon shiet
Bonus point if it have Millenium item equivalent
>Not Grepher's bizarre adventure
Actually yes I was gonna name-drop it (though most likely it'd be like Persona) but it doesn't even have an anime.
That's what Yugioh kinda tried to be at times with all the gods and demons stuff and people's cards being connected to their spirit but again, rules. The card rules take away a bit from what it could be.
GX season 3 already was like Shin Megami Tensei in anime form but the freaking monsters agree to play card games kek
This I'd like to. Duel Monsters was very inspired by Kaiji already.
But I think all agree that Yugioh as an anime has potential as long as it gets a plot that isn't playing cards 1 duel per episode trying to sell us merchandise.
>The card rules take away a bit from what it could be
i mean, its not like they dont take full potential about it
alots of myth have portrait that have spirit live inside/ have power to channel otherworldly
So Xiaolin Showdown?
Changing the production staff every season was a stupid idea. They never ended up concluding the things they set up for at the start.
Yeah I even think they could be kept, just give better excuses as to why fight in this game and not with real punches. Seal of Orichalcos and Shadow Games were fine in Duel monsters for the most part
Yugi lost this game. In order to drop the lighter on his hand, he would have had to have moved his other fingers. On top of that, he's pointing in the second panel, meaning he moved his index finger.
Wish we have jigsaw like character
Bombman come closer to it
Why not a cute girls doing cute things anime about cute girls playing yugioh. Just let the girls be brutally honest about the game
"Why are your main decks different but most of the monsters that comes out of your extra deck are the exact same."
"What do you mean draw my outs?"
"It's been two turns but also 10 minutes"
"How come all these cards can be played from your hand whenever you want?"
