After going back, I did like them much more.

I would say no. They are important in introducing the cast, but they are admittedly weaker in quality.

Yeah. I loved how it made fun of Death Note. I also laughed really hard during the toilet paper episode.
It's been more than 10 years since I have seen that episode for the first time, I might have a different opinion now, but ultimately, it was the episode that completely endeared me to the show.

Besides being funny, it can be really wholesome, sad and motivating at the same time. It is also good at bombarding you with a rollercoaster of different emotions in the span of 20 minutes. It's a fantastic show and you can feel how the people making it love it too.
