Anyway, Denji has grown a lot in, in a too real way and way too many people project their feelings onto how Denji should act, while he is acting completely in-character, while still maturing.
He wants more than normal, he wants more than others would give him and he wants it on his own terms, even going as far as fighting the person he loves, instead just throwing himself at her feet like he used to.
Don't let the people who think that killing PM will cancel Makima contract or shit like that get to you.

I think it's already a big step for him that he's confronting the problem. In the past he used to run away from difficult things. Even if there's still some kind of reward attached to it, at least it's a reward that he decided on his own.

He should become quick-witted, nothing more. Pochita can cancel that contract anytime. Denji becoming mature would significantly lessen his life, as it would bore the shit outta Pochita when Denji mainly pursues more meaningful things. Notice how Denji apologized to Pochita when he rejected Himeno. This is one of the few things, Denji is completely aware of.

That's not gonna happen because Denji isn't smart, purposefully so. And he won't become smart over the course of 2 days. He is already more mature than he was before in the rest of the manga, and he's taking it step by step.
Pochita only said he wanted to see Denji's dreams, he never specified how mature or not they must be. Pochita wants him to be happy, first and foremost, is my take on it.
I wonder if it is the same graveyard Himeno and Kishibe visited. The gravestones are slightly different though, unless those are fresh graves.

With Denji being immortal, I wonder how better he can become, personality-wise.
I don't think he is actually dumb, as in, he wouldn't have a capacity to do well, but no education, shit life and so on turned him into a "dumbass".

Just because Pochita might end the contract 500 years earlier doesn't mean he doesn't wanna see Denji happy. He'd most likely let Denji be happy as a fully mature adult for like 70 years. The most important moments Pochita had with Denji were hearing his dreams in that tiny adobe. Chainsawman was carrying out those dreams that Denji had already experienced himself. Pochita is enamored with those dreams and wants Denji to keep doing them. It's clear to me, that he's stuck in the past.

I think a Denji with school smarts is basically someone like Kurose.
I don't think his lack of education is the real problem, it's the way he dealt with problems in the past, by denying they exist or ignoring them. And now he's getting over it, slowly.
Denji in the chapters 1 through 90 would have not confronted Makima now. And you can still see him struggle with the thought in the chapter, but he's getting it now.
That is assuming that the CSM form is Pochita. But while I was on board with this before, I don't think so anymore. Mainly because Pochita says "save Denji" and Denji speaks about going on the date with Kobeni and good food. I don't think CSM was fully Pochita, at the very least it's the mixture of both of them combined, but Denji wasn't fully gone. So in my mind it isn't Pochita being stuck in the past, it's Denji trying to find happiness after a really shit day, trying to cheer himself up.
