The main cast and their stands are very bland and boring compared to previous parts (Araki running out of ideas). Generally, the fights range from just too ridiculous to even care because it's just beyond absurd (dude snails lmao) to boring and forgettable (a mixture of Araki out of ideas and trying to top how bizarre previous parts were). Weather Report is the only truly good character and he's barely in it. The DIO retcon with Pucci is straight cringe. Reboot ending that was both generic and unsatisfying, although the fight itself was cool. Also the art is the worst in the series other than part 1, which to me suggests Araki didn't really even care about what he was doing and was starting to lose interest (which could be reaffirmed by SBR initially not being Jojo).
I see the appeal with how it's more of a continuous story and less motw than other parts, and the main villain is always present/involved. But the story is not interesting at all and Pucci is a villain dependent on DIO retcons that are not necessary and cringy.
Pretty much everything about it is bad, I have no idea why people like it other than being blinded by the fact it's the female part and people gravitate towards that.
It has better stands and a better villain than SBR
Liam Phillips
based, pretty much this. i found 7 boring as hell.
Mason Carter
Nah the stands for the cast are great. The battles are great and Araki really embraces how bizarre he can make them.
Landon Nguyen
I really wish part 7 wasn't hyped up by so many people because I ended up going in with high expectations and being greatly dissapointed except for about three arcs.

>Araki running out of ideas part 1, 2 and 3 are a shameless fist of the north star ripoff
Logan Allen
Fist of the North Star is a shameless rip off of Sylvester Stallone
Art is better than all the previous parts. The volumes outside the prison are great and inside it's a bit hit and miss, but overall the good arcs are mostly above the earlier parts' early arcs. Araki improved each part, every part is better than the previous one. Of course this is just my opinion.
Christopher Anderson
I thought Part 7 had the slowest start out of all the parts. Like for 20 chapters or so we got pretty mediocre fights that I can barely remember. And then it got really, really good.
Easton Thomas
Nah the art was weaker and I say this as someone who loves SO. Prison arcs were great though, I honestly liked them all.
Luke Stewart
It really isn't. I've have the SO bunko box and the art is solid. Hell, Jojo's artwork has been solid if you get your hands on any physical copies.
Ian Gomez
It's always been so impressive to me that araki was able to put out chapters with such detailed and consitent art on a weekly schedule.
I wasn't aware of the gaps between 5 and 6, as well as 6 and 7.
Covid will have slowed things down. We do have that big event in April, all of the VAs for the JoJos are showing up together for the first time. Lets hope they have Jolyne's VA show up too and announce SO.
Carson Martin
I wonder if they are going to have any trouble with getting permission to mention disney stuff.
Charles Martinez
It's also interesting to see that the beginning chapters in SBR that everyone complains about are still serialized in a weekly format, only for the writing to dramatically increase once Araki goes seinen. >jojo-portal.com Something will happen soon...

The characters of Stone Ocean were great. After part 5's main characters were one dimensional flawless pieces of cardboard (both Gio and Bruno) it was a breath of fresh air to have a main character who had an actual personality, character development and character flaws. Jolyne is basically the best parts of Jonathan, Joseph, and Jotaro combined.
Aiden Campbell
Am I the only one who thinks that the WSJ chapters of SBR were already a massive improvement over previous parts?
Carter Williams
same, only thing i liked about part 7 was the horse racing and the art
Austin Moore
The break after stone ocean and a whole new universe probably gave araki new-found freedom and creativity to make those chapters with.
Dylan Morgan
That’s what I think. He already had decades of experience, and it was his first time starting a “new” ongoing series since the 80s.
At the end of the day JJBA is mainly composed of fighting, so making the fights fun and interesting should be priority.
Part 6's fights aren't fun or interesting. There's way too much focus on trying to make each new stand feel bizarre to the point where many of the stands are incomprehensible, Heavy Weather being the obvious one. As for the minor antagonists, they're bad.
It also has the worst main cast in the series and unfortunately it's mostly due to negligence. I have zero opinions on Ermes because she spends so little time in the story that I don't know what to think about her as a character. F.F. was good but was only in for about 1/3 of the story. Emporio's entire existence is just weird in general. He's like if Otacon randomly became the protagonist at the end of MGS1 and just insta-killed Liquid, it's really baffling. Jolyne gets so much focus that it's actively detrimental to the rest of the cast and honestly I don't feel like that focus really goes anywhere. She's not a super in-depth character and only shows one real moment of development when she starts acting less goofy and more like Jotaro.
Most seem to think people don't like Part 6 because of the ending when the battle against Pucci is the most entertaining part of it, hell C-Moon and Made in Heaven are some of the best arcs in the entire franchise.
In short, Part 6's ending is good, but the rest of the part? Yikes.
