Every character was the actual protagonist of its own sublopt. The latest arc was ruined by the main characters talking about other people love life rather than letting us see actual progression between the characters themselves

Sadly in this case the main couple steal the screen time to the side characters in their own supposed subplots, so it's not possible. Only look at Hanako kun and you see how writing side pairing right
