This is a big case of "opinions" but at the same time you gota remember that it holds the same style it has used since the 90's. Back in the 90's everything was made by hand and simpler styles were the norm for weekly manga; furthermore, you can have many more assistants helping out on a popular manga nowadays.

My biggest problem is that she hides too much without reason. It made sense in the beginning but not 200 episodes past her introduction.

How is it bait? It might have gotten more polished over time, but the style is the same he has been using since 94, when the manga came out. If you read the whole thing from start to finish with out jumping chapter you probably won't even notice the differences. Some mangaka do make severe changes in their styles from start to finish of their work, but this is not the case here.

In a thread for a series where one of the primary talking points is how the art style has gotten more shoddy and weird looking (anime wise mainly but some in the manga) you'll have to clarify at the beginning you mean basic aspects and not a style as a whole.

I am more of a lurker, so I often forget how people can react to this kind of comment. I apologize, with style I meant the the artist characteristic drawing style. To be honest I don't even dislike the art, just pointing out how newer readers might find 90's style drawing to be more simplistic when it comes to faces. I haven't been up to date with the last chapter, but I could understand it if Aoyama is putting on years and not working as well as he used to. I am not shitting on older art either.

Once he realized it wasn't going to be a three month long manga and it started having more plot threads introduced, Aoyama decided to make the art more mature looking, instead of the childish lighthearted angle that was really played up in the beginning. The common opinion is that the older art is better, it actually changed in a positive way up until around the middle and then he kept going and going and some characters got uglier.

The series is wrapping up its apparent second to last arc right now with a big Black Org confrontation, and the likely eventual reveal of Rum. The only thing after Rum's arc, who is the second in command, is endgame. Gosho said some time back he could see it ending in 8 years, and we're probably already down to 7-6 now. It will end during the 2020's.

Conan is ending at its own pace, but we're practically in the endgame right now.
