Its out and yeah, you immediatley notice its basically Toriko 2: Carpenteering Bogaloo.

It's a lot better than the oneshot, I'll give it that, but still kinda meh, and I find it weird that the entire premise and plot seem completely different

Interesting that it got changed so heavily from the one shot

There's a heaven and hell difference between this guy's background/monster art and character art.

Seems cool.

>MC doesn't build anything but his friend does
Bleh

>it's Toriko
>with building houses instead of cooking
I'm in.

>hideous main character
yeah, it's shit

>eating chocolate wood nails
I see you vestige of toriko.

I would be surprised if there isn´t going to show anything up from Toriko to a degree, both because there was a architect guy that did Torikos candy house, and the fact one Gourmet World beast shown at one point was literally a kaiju sized turtle with a fortress for a shell.

>its basically Toriko 2
based Shimabukuro not giving a fuck about the axe and just continuing toriko under a different name

It really is Toriko with houses

>build king
>i can build peace
>fucking hammer blast some monster
My fucking sides. Will continue reading.Hope this is not super ambitious until shit just get canned.

For all intend and purpose its whacky enough to even fit the same world, just that the characters arent obsessed with food but building stuff probably using beast parts.

MC is ugly but personality wise is bearable. Too early to call it good, but it's promising

As always the author always going overboard with the theme.

>its basically Toriko 2: Carpenteering Bogaloo.
That all I wanted

I love it

I wonder why the author insisted on this Komatsu style character design, when his best strength were clearly in Toriko type character design

I miss the house form the one-shot, but this is still good

Can't wait until the powerscale explode and the build king will be basically fodder tier. I like how the scale is huge already, it's a good start and really feels like a Toriko continuation.
And I hope we are going to fetch some premium tier ingredien- "materials" for housebuiling.

He is really similar to kid goku

at least it's not early Komatsu's design

Probably because he isn't Toriko-tier of strength and recognition yet, and he wants to show us the journey to that.
One of the thing people complained is how Toriko was hyped to be one of the strongest in the world in the beginning, just have every arc one-upping him, and I feel like this is the author way to counter that.

>The madman supposedly got into real estate.
>Comes back with a manga based around buildings.

Turns out he secretly was only raising his power level by working in something relevant.

>>The madman supposedly got into real estate.
Now that is doing research, how long was he into real estate anyway since toriko ended?

Exactly next week is when Toriko ended 6 years ago. The oneshot for Build King was like 2 years ago, i think? My guess is 3-4 years.

The one shot was better in my opinion, after seeing
Samurai 8 get shit canned why didn’t the mangaka start big by having the house mech in the first chapter to grab people’s attention immediately?

>2b2t the manga
I can dig it.

Some of the build kings look amazing, I'm actually looking forward to this.
MC might get OP weapons and artifacts to fight while his bro builds crazy shit, I'm in.

Eh, I preferred the oneshot and its basically Toriko MC and his transformers house sidekick, but I'll still follow this to see where it goes

Nice, would love to see the autism he learned during his research get into the series.Toriko with its crazy ass bullshit world building was a pleasure to read and look at.

Build King is translated by Christine Dashiell, who previously translated Toriko amongst numerous other series (RxL, Fire Punch, to name a few). She is also doing Magu-chan and Agravity Boys, making her the translator with the most credits in Jump currently (for how long though?).

World seems interesting enough to make up for bland character intros.
I'll stick around a few weeks, see if it stays entertaining.

Maybe for pwerlevel concerns? I know Toriko already started off strong, but maybe he’s gonna introduce stuff like that later in this series

Considering how Toriko went, the Build Kings will end up just being prototypes with the Earth itself being the finished product.
And then the protag will beat the bad guy with a one billion kilometer hammer.

It was alright for a chapter 1, but Tonkaichi's (?) dream of "peace" was extremely forced and I didn't like it at all. I hate braindead shit like "I want to become hokage/pirate king/etc".

>The Earth is still under construction and he will finish it after having assembled the blueprints to do so, sating his inner Builder Devil.
>The main antagonist will have turned the moon into a death star with his building skills.

>one billion kilometer hammer
Nah, its gonna be a lost technology jackhammer powered by mini sun (actually a creature) inside a "housing".

The inspiration from early DB is easy to see. Not a bad thing though, depending on how he executes it.
