Sometimes I wish I could switch to a universe where GT and Super never happened and the original manga gracefully ended after Namek.
The universe where Kintoki is a full series and not a oneshot because Toriyama was too burned out after Dragon Ball to commit to weekly serialization ever again.

I liked GT because it was a return to basic, but by that point the power levels where so big there was no way to make a proper adventure story anymore.

Not sure why you would even compare them. GT Goku is a poor attempt to recapture the magic of DB and that illusion is immediately broken once he starts flying and throwing blasts.

The space adventure part was horribly unfocused and then dropped halfway only to be replaced by a caricature of the Z formula at its worst for the rest of the series.

SSJ4 had more soul. The 'we are actually were-apes' thing that Saiyans had was a running theme. They aren't supposed to just be weird haired superhumans like the X-men.
