Being a magical girl is hard. This was maybe my answer to Tsuzuki, whom, as much as I admire him, I do quibble with. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha has a very medieval philosophy: that if the magical girl was strong, the good will triumph. We look at real world and it’s not that simple. Tsuzuki can say that Nanoha became the ace of aces and taught for 40 years, and she was wise and good. But Tsuzuki doesn't ask the questions: what was TSAB's tax policy? Did they maintain domestic spying program? What does Nanoha do in times of increasing entropy? And what about all those alien sponsors? By the end of the incidents, the mad scientists are gone but all of their sponsors aren't gone - they are biding their time. Did Nanoha pursue an inter-dimension war and capture them? Even their family and employees, who are unware of their oppositions to TSAB rules?
