This. Sutphin Blvd will be where most people will realistically FIRST experience the city unless they have a cab or someone picking them up from the airport. And what do you get there? A sidewalk slick from garbage/fish grease that accumulated over decades, some mysterious garbage liquid that pools in the cracks between the sidewalk and the street from leaking garbage bags, food vendors taking up what little sidewalk space there already is, potholes EVERYWHERE because it's a major bus hub and the city doesn't have time to fix them, homeless people and drug addicts being smelly and an eyesore inside and outside the train station, speaking of which, a dilapidated train station that has stalactites and stalagmites forming due to the city under-funding public transport for 20+ years, has wooden boards covering broken walls, dim lights that make the dirty white paint seem darker than usual, a mysterious odor somewhat reminiscent of sewage (but not quite) that literally moves up and down the station so you can't even get away from it, escalators that don't work, and an elevator that looks like someone died in (and smells like it too).
Nigger, that's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying that comic authors literally do not draw just how DIRTY this place can be compared to other places.

I will talk about my reality. My city is very dirty, but not the tourist area. The tourist area is swept 4 times a day. "Dirty to keep the job of the street sweeper. That's the mentality of the population.

It started in the previous chapter. The school sent a letter warning of the need for a passport for an international trip. Komi got the passport in a week, in my country would take a month.

I don't care what your opinion is on the matter but it's a hard fact that unless you're coming in by taxi from LaGuardia/JFK then you're realistically going to have to go through Sutphin and experience just how dirty and rundown the city can be as your first impression of it.
