this mangaka wasted his career. There was no reason for conan to be over 1k chapters. It's ridiculously repetitive and the official timeline makes no sense. Conan should have been 300 chapters at most, then if he wanted he could make a sequel about Conan and Ran's kid, then move the fuck on.

Agree and disagree. I agree it would be better to have lasted less long, but I love the episodic mystery format, arc by arc and shift by shift. You have an arc for one focus with an overarching narrative while solving daily cases, and then the climax that shifts into the next arc and introduces a new atmosphere. The primary point is solving daily cases. Plus there are things I sincerely love about the series that wouldn't have had time to shine in 300 chapters unless you crammed the pacing to hell. I enjoy the FBI a lot, I enjoy this RUM arc, and I enjoyed the buildup from Haibara's introduction to Vermouth's, etc.
Really I think I'd just meet halfway, cut Bourbon's arc out and we'd have years chopped off and the only super bland arc gone. We'd already be on whatever arc is next after RUM's by now, most likely, and that's possibly the last one.

Realistically speaking taking into account typical pacing, this chapter should be when this arc kicks into its highest gear. Gin wants to make sure Camel died instead of just leaving it be and assuming he is, Rum is giving orders now, and the big event is soon. I think it could be a really great chapter coming, maybe someone else shows up at the Kudo residence (or maybe even Kogoro's office while Conan is away.)

I was surprised the code was lower level than usual but maybe something bigger will come, but I was glad Gosho did a not Kaito twist with the smirk, it was genuinely unexpected and I also don't really want Kid having too many Black Org relevant appearances. He's already the reason Gin thinks Sherry is dead. Heiji hasn't even gotten a Black Org advancement role to my memory to that level, just the thing on the halloween ship.
