Just watch Treasure Island if you want actual pirates.

It really could use more naval battles

who is the single most powerful entity in the series?

>manga

You know it, I know it, we all know it.

The anime is inferior

They stole a lot of riches in the end of the skypia arc

The anime could be a lot better if they ever took a break from making episodes so they didn't have to fill every episode with
>a surprisingly long OP
>a 3 minute recap in every single episode
>~10 minutes of every episode dedicated purely to "here, stare at this face.. now this face.. now this face.."
There is not a single series out there with worse pacing, it is fucking painful.

Still not clear. It's gonna be either Blackbeard or Akainu unless there is some unseen character out there who is gonna get an asspull

I'm not fully caught up, but Dragon is probably on their level, if his strength/devil fruit hasn't been revealed yet. He could likely be the asspull that becomes the new strongest character.

Piracy just means disobeying the government and punching the local tax collectors and administrators, since Oda is a Liberal/Libertarian.

It's a casualty of how long running shounen anime used to work sadly. They'd probably have to renegotiate their whole contract with Jump and they're not gonna bother at this point.

> assuming that the strongest character must be a pirate, marine,
> or otherwise involved in the plot

Unironically never. You think they would allow actual pirate activities in a manga for little boys?

You're probably right unfortunately. I just can't believe nobody who's a higher up has realized how dogshit awful the anime is to watch. I gave up during the dressrosa arc because jesus christ almighty I couldn't take another episode of it. It just feels like nothing actually happens in 90% of the episodes. You c ould shrink every episode to like 7 minutes and lose nothing of importance.

Pirates in One Piece is essentially anyone who doesn't conform to World Government law, so technically all the time.

Pirates in one piece arent ur average thugs who go around stealing shit and pillaging some random village, they literally own countries and huge swarths of land and islands. Big Mom pirates and Beast pirates arent just pirates they're basically military superpowers with huge territories larping as "pirates", smaller pirates like the warlords run whole ass countries too like Doflamingo or Crocodile or Kuma. Theres no point in acting like small little thugs when u own literal countries and all its resources. If u want anything close to real life pirates then the Bluejam pirates its the closest thing to it, a bunch of thugs who push around poor people and get toyed around by the Goa Kingdoms government.

Blackbeard and his crew are arguably the only real pirates.

This

Usopp.

But seriously, probably Dragon. Dude seems to be so strong that they don't even have a way to reveal his powers yet.

Never.

probably this dude? final secret villain?

Honestly I like it it makes me feel more attached to the characters plus I can never have to many reaction faces it’s a gold mine for them. I love the manga too so I’m cool.

Nami makes sure they rob and take.

>riches
"""""""stole"""""""

Skypeia you fucking non reader

Gold is riches yes. Especially since it came out to 200 million berri, 2x Luffy's bounty despite having taken out a WARLORD OF THE SEA at that point
And they took it without permission.
That is stealing.
>BUT THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE
They were going to give something else.
If someone gives you a new pillow but you take their dog that's still stealing.

>And they took it without permission.
They were already giving them the gold in the first place.
Calling this stealing is retarded,
>muh technical it is stealing
Yeah, no. Fuck off.

They stole my heart.
