Pretty lame character.

Edgy for the sake of edgy

He's a loser that wasted his apostleship.

What do you think of his design?

I thought he was a great enemy type for them as an intro to fighting the other apostles.

He's pretty based
Keep things interesting, no fun in safety

the fact that i watched the 1999 anime then read the manga followed by the movies only to completely not realize he was redacted a 2nd time should be a testiment to how unmemorable his little arc was. But its more berserk and thats always a welcoming thing.

Hes a weaker version of Zodd. His monster form doesn't make a lick of sense, but before I say that he is a poorly designed character I will point out that he's still better than any of the giants from Attack on Titan and that he basically is a proto-titan design. There even seems to be swirling steam or mist as he transforms.

Unnecessary and overly edgy. There’s nothing wrong with having them fight and kill an apostle before the Eclipse, it’s actually pretty good but his character was awful.

I think his part of the story was fun and he did a good job of setting the story up for what was coming, but ultimately he wasn't that important to the story. His main contribution to the story was showing the Hawks just how hopeless Griffith's situation was, but that's easily shown just by having them take a look at him.

Is it just me or does he look kinda cute?

He has his moments. I think Miura had a lot of fun drawing Wyald's scenes.

>AAAAIIEEEE I DON'T WANNA DIE
He was an hypocrite

Why did the godhand need to send ZODD NOSFERATU to calm his tits when Griffith has the ability to make the war demons do whatever the fuck he wants?

Or are they just in on some scheme that will eventually allow them to rape all the humans Griffith has conveniently concentrated in a single area?

Fun things are fun.

That's every apostle at the end of the day. They're all craven shits, else they wouldn't sacrifice a loved one to make their pain go away. At the end of the day they're human whether they want to admit it or not.

I think the 97 anime showed that he wasn't really that useful as a plot device.

I wonder if he and his crew would've joined the new band of the hawk

went out like a bitch

He'd definitely try to. Dude loved having status and state backing for being a psychopath. I doubt Griffith would tolerate him raping and murdering innocents though, if only because it would harm his reputation.

While Zodd is good at setting up just how powerful an Apostle can be I feel Wyald is good at establishing just how evil and remorseless they can be. It really helps to show you how fucked the situation is when the Band of the Hawk is surrounded by a bunch of Apostles during the Eclipse.
Also I think his Apostle form is cool

I think in another translation he says "if you always talk about living or dying you end up wasting your life anyway"

Does anyone have the "fun things are fun" edit?

Actually, when Zodd shows up Wyald does say that Griffith is not who he claims to be, which might actually turn out to be true by the end of the story. Griffith is the only person whose sacrifice was not fully completed. Also, there are Vatican prophecies regarding the black swordsman and a dark hawk, which seems to be confusing Gutts and Griffith because they both kind of fit the descriptions. So Wyald may have provided very long-term and important foreshadowing just before his death.

What is wylad was good and wanted to help people?

We dont know his backstory yet. I have a feeling that Miura will paint him a little more sympathetic as to why he is blind. But in the end, the mere fact that he is an apostle will surely show a part of his scumbag nature no matter what.

Indeed. In the end, an apostle is still a being that made an evil and callous choice to attain the powers of a monster. Seeing the various "elite" apostles in the New Band of the Hawk, strut around thinking they are these wondrous beings makes me disgusted by their ill gotten arrogance.

Absolute gentleman.

Wtf are you idiots talking about he is like one of the most memorable characters in the beginning part of the manga. He has one of the most badass moments when he fucked up that prisoner. You guys are just retarded.

General fucking Boscogne was more memorable than Wyald. Hell, so was Minister Foss.
