I think a prequel could be interesting but I doubt we'll get it since it has to be Oorai related. A next generation would be fun as well.

Das Finale Part 1 was weak. They're already running out of ideas. By Part 6, we'll all have gotten over it.

das finale is more analogous to a drawn out 2nd seaon than it is a movie series. if you take das finale as 2 episodes of the anime, it's much better than pretty much every pair of episodes of the original (save the last two). first 3-4 episodes of the original series sucked in comparison to what would come. the shark introduction was way more fun than pretty much every other non-tank portion of the show. the battle sucked, but they made up for it in part 2, in typical gup fashion of stopping the battle mid-episode before getting to the good part.
is the increase in quality worth the 2 year gaps between releases? probably not, but i wouldn't say a franchise that's built on cute girls chatting, background characters posing, and tank combat has to worry about "running out of ideas" over the course of the next 160 minutes of air time we have left. they may have to worry about the audience dying off though
