Listen I want to ask all you something: why to care about Rebuild Evangelion?
Think of this: what does Rebuild Evangelion imply? That events looped after End of Evangelion, correct?
But then we are left with the non-finality of End of Evangelion and Asushin either did not occur or it did but the world reset and now Asushin is no more.
But what you have to understand is that Asushin end MUST be canon. You don't understand. It's not for Asuka's sake, it's not for Shinji's sake, it's not even for the sake of the human race in the NGE world, it's for OUR sake.
Shinji and Asuka on the beach as new Adam and Eve is not about them literally giving birth to a new humanity - it is about them allowing the life of OUR humanity. You say: but they hate each other, they are disgusted with each other, in real life men and women do not fall in love after trauma. But you must recognize that if in real life human animosity of such scale is never overcome by the passion of loving bonds, then we are DOOMED as a species.
If Rebuilds is canon Asuka and Shinji never did find happiness and now everything is happening again. So why care? They will never succeed because we will never succeed, our race will die as animosity between men and women and humanity in general increases to the point we damn ourselves to destruction, just as they did. If Rebuilds is not canon then we can just acknowledge that Asushin is canon and then we don't need to care about Rebuilds.
By exclusion of the third, there is NO reason to care about Rebuild Evangelion.
