Sunrise’s net profit was 4.85 billion yen, double the net profit of last year
Isn't that the parent company of Yugioh?
What? They only made twice as much profit this year?
Damn those anime studios for demanding too much. Without them, all those big companies would make 10 times as much profit as last year.
Anime studios should force their animators to actually pay for the privilege of working on anime, instead of demanding to be paid at all.
And that money must of course be given to the producers, and not to the anime studios.
Wooow WSJ is doomed!
Sony should buy Shueisha.
Is this due to corona? I was under the impression that, before the pandemic they were doing less and less well
Its due to Kimetsu being bought by every old lady in Japan.
Wrong dipshit
>Shueisha should buy Sony
April 1, 2020-September 30, 2020
Due to the postponement of many movies, TOEI Animation’s net profit totaled 8.783 billion yen, a significant decrease in revenue compared to the same period last year.
According to TOEI's forecast, the net profit in 2020 is 10.5 billion yen
According to the forecast of the securities company, the net profit in 2020 is 10.8 billion yen
In 2019, TOEI’s net profit was 11.4 billion yen, and this year’s revenue decreased by 600 million to 900 million yen.
>the conglomerate that owns Shueisha should buy Sony
The original manga ran in Weekly Shounen Jump, yes.
But technically speaking, Yugioh is co-owned by Shueisha, Konami and Kaz.
Don't the other manga run in V-Jump?
>he doesn't know
All the subsequent ones yes. Kaz wrote GX personally, oversaw 5Ds, and let Konami do whateverthefuck with the rest.
How? Zig Forums told me Love Live was dead and people only cared about YouTube memes about it now.
You're welcome
I know you're not asking but I would ravage her ass.
Sunrise's annual net profit comparison
2.01 billion yen (2014)
2.72 billion yen (2015)
2.60 billion yen (2016)
2.93 billion yen (2017)
2.90 billion yen (2018)
2.79 billion yen (2019)
4.85 billion yen (2020)
Sunrise's revenue this year has increased significantly due to unknown reasons
we need an update
Yet they will cry that piracy is killing them.
Thank you KimetsuCHAD for saving Shonen
BUT PIRACY IS CAUSING LOST SALES WITH EACH ILLEGAL DOWNLOAD
In Japan, yes. Hikkikomori creeps do cost creators money. But gaijins don't, because liscencing fees are negligible and all up-front. That's why publishers only very rarely go after anime piracy. If you want anime to not die, ban all nip IPs from your torrent client.
>Article doesn't even mention Kimetsu
That's what they get for not putting themselves on the production committee for Haikyuu.
Do you have Toei's breakdown by franchise? It was funny how last year DBS was still the company's cashcow despite being off the air for more than a year.
they should learn from the pro Ufraudtable
Untaxable took it from their themed cafes
Here's 1st quarter 2021 (April-June)
I don't think KnY would be up there. to crack like 10 billion as a manga/anime franchise you're making like 99% from merch or pachinko. If it hadn't ended it might've been like One Piece and just brute force its way up, but I don't see a finished manga breaking sales records 10 years+ out of print
>Hollywood and Disney dying due to pandemic
>anime breaking records
This is the best timeline.
>unknown reasons
You mean streaming because people spend more time in home because Covid.
Same reason why Vtubers exploded.
I know why they do it but I really wish it were conglomerated ie Disney instead of Winnie and Mickey and Princess and Marvel and Star Wars
