His little sister is 21 years younger than him. His dad apparently told him to live on his own to enjoy being lovey dovey again with the mom. Dad tell mom that her son decided this on his own and he is living his life to the full in university (he even blocked the son number so mom cannot contact him). The reason why he told him to comeback is because the mom always asked why he didn't come when his little sister is born and feeling down because of this.
