mangadex is a sinkhole that pulls in mangafans but hides new works from them, because of that good mangas are not getting attention (neither do the bad ones) and tl groups drop them.
If you are using Mangadex you are killing fantl, stop using it.

does md has a function not on the front page that reliably shows new mangas? for the casual user, using more than 1 site to track titles is unecesery work, and those casual users are missing on many ttitles.

How is it hiding anything? You can always just look through all the updates chronologically. And popularity based rankings always favor older stuff and MD is hardly the only aggregator with one for convenient reccomendations.

all updates only shows added chapters, not added titles. and last i checked, it doesn't filter older mangas, so you have to browse trough seas of 2 digits chapters that have been uploaded in the last couple of hours since you last checked. thats for machosits, not for me.

because its limited in space. it has like 10 slots, and if 13 has been added at once you will miss out on 3. so whenever there are an influx of titles (yaoi, doujins, etc) other titles will be pushed down.

I don't care because people shouldn't be relying on the front page of an aggregator to find new manga to read for exactly that reason. Especially when you know that it constantly gets flooded by bottom of the barrel isekai series or gook and chink shit. You can do that just by browing the "last updated" section, hitting random or just fucking searching a particular genre/tag.
