Otoyomegatari. Slice of life manga about Middle Eastern culture. It's boring if you're not into the genre but there are some great arcs. The art is among the best I've EVER seen in my 8 years of manga history, stands out a lot. Note that the two characters in the pic are a couple. No, its not shota but rather an arranged marriage that's culturally acceptable is desert-land.

Yea I dropped it early too, picked it up again last year out of boredom and read the whole thing, it was pre entertaining. The story was pretty weak and overly serious for it's substance it felt tone deaf, but when it delved into the action, camp and wacky world building it got pretty fun. Quick read pre alright read, don't waste your time on it if your time is precious otherwise go for it

I never found the story to be in any way unpleasant to experience. I became invested in DS saving the world and having babies with Yoko even if I acknowledge the fact that this will never happen and that the series is dead.
Bastard!! scratches for me that same as itch as playing Brütal Legend does. It's just a Heavy Metal album cover with an ongoing story and I love it.
