It would have had more of an impact (or any impact at all really) if they had bothered making her an actual character. As it stands the whole episode just fell flat because neither her nor the other one whose name I can't remember were interesting in any way.

Captain Ostray was chosen by "god" as a hero candidate. At the same time, he remembered that one of the first Valkyries, Amy, was his sister. He wondered why he had forgotten that. Then, he had to take command of the unit as the only surviving officer in HQ.
In the German units at the front, Captain Eberburg was the acting regimental commander. He found Pillars that could withstand even a nuclear attack would be damaged by a close range attack. Shortly thereafter, he witnessed two Valkyries sacrificed their lives for him, and vowed to take revenge on Pillars for them.
Ostray ordered Eberburg to search for the missing Valkyries.

Ostray revealed to Eberburg a secret he had learned. Valkyries captured by Pillars become warriors of Pillars, like chess pieces. To prevent this, Valkyries' bodies must be retrieved.
Seeing his subordinates' morale boosted by the discovery of the surviving refugees, Eberburg thinks. Humans need some excuse to kill humans. But how do humans behave when the opponents are not humans?
At this time, the troops of each country that had lost their commanders on the Greek front were about to gather at Thermopylae.
