Even if hes just running, Luffy is still fun. No amount of plot progression will make Deku bearable as an MC.

One piece accomplished more in it's first 100 chapters than MHA has in 300.

I dropped it the second I cought up with the manga at the start of the re-destro vs LoV fight, I didn't care in the slightest about any of the characters, which is supposed to be the reason why anyone would still read it since the story is going nowhere.

By chapter 300, Luffy was stuck in Skypeia, a no-name island in the middle of the grand line, not even close to the new world

By chapter 300 he'd left the East Blue after beating the shit out of every major name there and entered the Grand Line, had taken down a Warlord of the Sea and destroyed his criminal organization, saving an entire kingdom in the process, firmly putting himself on the world stage in the process, and had just finished beating the shit out of one of the most dangerous men in the world. And in the next arc he'd declare war on the world government.

By chapter 300 Deku is still a no-name student in his first year of high school, barely anyone knows his name, and in the next arc he's probably going to still be in the first year of high school.

Where is he running?

You should take another swing at it. I found it really boring at first but I ended up really enjoying it.

I'm still mad that the author introduced Mirio in the story because he's clearly the superior choice for OfA ant it retroactively makes All Might look like a retard for choosing Deku, which on itself is already a very bad decission even without the competition, what deku did to earn his powers was not heroic it was plain stupid, the only thing that jumping into danger when there is zero chance for you to help is adding another hostage for the goo monster to have, making the job of any potential hero that shows up twice as hard, the real pro heroes understood this immediately so they stayed at bay but deku the retard didn't, luckily for him the hero that could do something happened to be All fucking Might, so saving two hostages instead of one wasn't that big of a problem. Also, he offered his powers to Mirio, which proves not only that he thinks he's the better choice, but that he lacks the self confidence that a hero with those powers should have.
Tl;dr: Deku sucks

Fighting is much better than running, but Oda off-panels all the fights to make more room for running so we're stuck with this.

How does this series remain popular when it's such a boring pile of shit? Almost every arc has the same structure. Luffy and crew goes to an Island, that Island's residents are oppressed by a king or ruler (Kaido, Doflamingo, Arlong, Crocodile, Big Mom, Enel, etc), Luffy vows to take down the big bad, Luffy fights the big bad and loses, Luffy gets separated from the crew, the crew has their fights with the Big Bad's minions, Luffy comes back into the story then ultimately defeats the big bad or at least wins a victory somehow. Very few arcs go outside of this general formula and it becomes repetitive after 900 chapters.

People are overhyping chapter 1000, even though their experience with the manga should tell them otherwise.
Personally, I bet my ass nothing good will come out of it.
