Rika still has a child's body and of course, a child's brain, even if her "personality" has experienced a lot through all these years. All that chuuni behaviour of hers seems reasonable. I am wondering what kind of person would Rika end up being once she becomes an adult, she would have severe personality issues. Anyhow, her behaviour is reasonable within the contexts of the story.
As for Hanyuu, did you speedread? She wasn't referring to humanity as a whole, but rather to the current Hinamizawa population. While being the actual guardian goddess of the village, she is also a common ancestor of many of the villagers, specially of the Furude lineage. She pretty much kickstarted the Furude bloodline by having a child with a human, before she ascended. She's the mother both literally and figuratively. It seems laughable you consider a god acting like a god a chuuni act.

In Wata/Mae no one knew about Takano and the others sneaking into the shrine.

The "READ THE VN" meme was not actually a meme. The VN has a lot more details that simply were cut out in the anime. The anime characters seem one dimensional compared to the VN. You need to read the VN if you want the proper experience, however, it won't have its charm since you already know what's happening anyway. Still it would be worth a read if you have time.

She did care though. Did you read Saikoroshi? It is the epilogue of the story and it literally addresses your first statement. In short, Hanyuu punishes Rika for forgetting to love her parents and giving no fucks about them, also we get a bit more backstory about Hanyuu
As for Hanyuu acting as a retarded little girl, I don't know. I can assume she didn't have enough power anymore before Matsuribayashi to properly influence the world Rika was in at the time.

But actual Rokkenjima imagery? In what fucking situation would the Rokkenjima island even show up during a Higurashi anime set in Hinamizawa?
I can only wait to see how will Ryukishi connect this at all. Witches is one thing, but the cast traveling to the island (or an entire episode switching perspective to the Ushiromiyas over there) would be bonkers.

I read it years ago so memory is fuzzy. First three or four chapters were a blaze I couldn't stop and ran through them in few days and that was during university time. Then it took a rapid nosedive into shit with countless new characters and meta nonsense. Barely finished it, and by the end gave no fucks about it. Felt very disappointed.
