Done. This is the most Japanese a gag has gotten lately.
glad to see hakase losing for once
what game are they playing?
thanks
To clarify, this version of karuta actually exists. It's likely one based on gunma prefecture: www9.wind.ne.jp
The answers and corresponding image cards are such:

Crane Native to Gunma: www9.wind.ne.jp

In conclusion, Sakamoto may be from Gunma, and please watch You Don't Know Gunma Yet.
She's a real brat but Hakase can be pretty cute at times, I'm sure she's a good girl deep down
Thanks as always OP!
As said by Sakamoto, they play Karuta. Traditional variant has has poems written on cards in halves. A judge reads the first half and players compete in speed with which they can spot and touch the card with the second half of the poem.
See also: Chihayafuru.
I don't get it.
It was nice to see Sakamoto nailing the game. Thanks OP, a cute follow-up to the Sakurai chapter.
that's cool. thanks
nano is the casual way to say desu ka, which is asking a question so she says Nano, dochi (which) nano?
josephine spotted
Imagine losing to a cat in a card game, lmao.

In the first chapter with Sakamoto, don't Nano and Hakase remark that he speaks in Kansai dialect?
Thanks.
Specifically Osaka dialect, but yes. Gunma is in the Honshu region, so I did get that wrong.
This version seems far more simple than the one with the poems, since you are just looking for pictures, if I understood it correctly.
Yeah, this one is a regional variant of iroha karuta. Iroha karuta is super popular because it's less to memorize, and usually have a hiragana character that matches the first syllable of the hint phrase.
I don't think she is good deep down.
thanks OP
thank you user
counter argument: she made Nano
Thanks OP
The normal version seems ridiculously difficult. I could never do it, my brain could just not memorize something like that. Maybe it's slightly easier if you're born Japanese and speak it but it's still so many cards and different poems. I can't believe people are actually capable of mastering something that requires that much thought.
Nano was probably just a robot used to things she doesn't want to or doesn't understand by it training itself using certain materials, but she got struck by lightning and now she has a personality.
And look how she treats her.
that seems dangerous
She's a sturdy girl.
for the train
She almost cried when she stubbed her toe on a door frame.
She's just imitating human behavior.
