Prequel movie in 1 or 2 years after season 1 and announcement of season 2 would have been fine by me, but I've waited so long and I'm going to miss Yuuri if this is a movie entirely set in the past from the first to the last minute.

Two years just to release a PV and three, almost four years since the movie was announced, and all we got was Victor entering the rink, what am I even supposed to be hyped about? I'm more angry than anything.

With a title like Ice Adolescence, comparisons to Utena are inevitable. They can take another five years to work on it for all I care - they're gonna need it.

This exactly. When it was first announced I was like 'ok' but now I'm just mad. If there's ever a season 2 it'll mean I probably won't see my boys for another 5 years.

I'll also never get over how badly the creators treated Plisetsky with all their excuses like "we didn't want to make a show about teenagers so he can't be MC!", "it would be too sad if he were the MC!" etc. Then they go and make a teen Victor movie about some cringey melodrama. I thought Kubo said Season 2 was supposed to be about Plisetsky in Russia, but that's suddenly canceled for a movie instead.

Teen Victor is just discount-Plisetsky, anyway. I couldn't give less of a fuck about this movie, should have done a season 2 instead.

He's in it, but the question is if the entire movie is a prequel or set at the time of the anime with flashbacks. First case scenario we get 13 year old Yuuri which I'm not that interested in. I'm very curious about bald though since we know so little about his life.

No, all they announced was the title and one picture of Victor. They didn't say anything about the plot. That also does nothing to address the rest of my post. A season 2 would have been better, because it wouldn't just be and hour and a half of content and we'd get to see all the other characters. No one was ever watching the show for just Victor. Even BaldFats only care about their fujobait pairing.

I have very mixed feelings on YoI (overall I thought the writing was weak and the character development was inconsistent, but there were some genuinely wholesome moments). That said, I think Plisetsky was the most interesting character in the cast. He actually had a very solid character arc and still has plenty of direction to take his character in. Yuuri and Victor are so boring in comparison.

I agree. The only thing I disliked about the show was Victor/Yuuri. Yuri Plisetsky was by far the best character even though he kept getting his screentime cut by the creators to make room for more fujobait. The universe and other characters/setting was cool. I was excited for a Season 2 to see more of Plisetsky's story and the rest of the characters.

I couldn't care less about this movie. Yuuri's story has already been told, Victor's youth is just going to be some melodrama that doesn't make sense because we already saw that he never got any real character development until the show.
