Post anime you liked as a kid that you no longer like as an Adult

I still like the openings, character design and powers.

loved it as a teen, rewatched at 24 and just cringed at the characters all the time

Eva. In retrospect it seems pretty obvious that people only like it because it has plenty of sexual content and waifu bait. The rest of the story is rather shit.

Honestly this

Nobody this fixated on having outgrown stuff they used to like is an adult. Disliking things doesn't make you cool or special.

Anything by rumiko excluding UY.

No one says you need to be a little bitch boy but here you are. People outgrow things.

all of them

No contest Haruhi, it was the perfect show for the teenage crowd with "oh I'm so weird" phase, which happened to be most Zig Forumsnons during Haruhi boom

Honestly, right now I feel like there's only a couple of manga/anime that are worth watching, it's kinda sad because even if I try I find that the 99% of anime is trash. Luckily I still feel like there are a few masterpieces here and there, but in general literature ruined anime for me.

Seconded. Endless eight was shit.

Reborn probably could have been great. Tsuna should have manned up by the end of his fight Xanxus.

I'm liking Yozakura so far, so I might still like reborn even now

the chicks in this show were underused hard

Naruto.
I still appreciate it for helping me get into anime but I don't think I ever want to watch or read it ever again.

This was the ultimate gag manga turned battle

Back when it first started airing, I thought Oregairu was a masterpiece since I was a nightcore listening sixteen year old but now I can't sit through the opening monologue without remembering myself repeat it word by word to my friend because I thought it was cool

>t. psuedointellectual

>cool powers
>actually cool characters
>ruined by extremely bad last arcs and an ending that shit the bed
fuck this gay earth

Code geass because I was too infatuated with Lelouch to see the faults with the show, still not a bad show just not as great as I thought

>Fixated
Why would it be a fixation?
I used to enjoy lots of anime as a kid, and now I only really follow news about sequels and such of nostalgia sake, but can't really enjoy watching the animes themselves.
Some of them: Dragon Ball/Z/GT, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Slayers, Shaman King.

Berserk.

This was my drug after school, but I don't remember why

I have to say I had the exact opposite experience... I rewatched it after 10 years for the first time during the lockdown, after going through a mecha genre binge (gundam, z gundam, zz gundam, top wo nerae, macross, etc.) and realized Eva is absolutely groundbreaking. As a teen I appreciated the waifubait and the general edgy "philosophical" stuff, symbolism and all the things that are superficially meant to draw you in. As an adult I was stunned by the level of detail with with which everything is made. Every shot is not only (for most of the anime) nicely framed and fluidly animated, but it also includes all sorts of tiny details from machines, to maps, to documents. The level of realism eva reaches is, in my opinion, still unparalleled in anime. Little things like the telephone boot cracking when Eva 01 takes his first steps, the shots with Eva 03 looming over a street sign, the detaile of elevators working, machines attaching and detaching - it is incredible. I still have to see anything that matches that level of attention for detail - and it made me think that Anno is mostly right when he says that no anime has been made that is newer than Eva.

Pretty sure you can find 100's of 90's anime that blow eva out of the water

I only started watching anime at 25

Why?

>I liked a lot of sugar as a kid
>I don't like a lot of sugar as an adult
>I acknowledge that
>"Why are you so fixated on having outgrown stuff?????"

Characters were pretty intentionally cringy desu. Younger you clearly just had a higher tolerance.

I don't like it nearly as much as I did when I was younger, it's just kind of boring
I feel like not understanding the references made it more enjoyable for me as a kid, because scenes that were originally
>lol this car race is so extreme! so random!
turned into
>oh it's a Initial D reference

For me Naruto didnt age as well as other anime I watched as a kid. Even though DBZ is more simple in its story telling, I like it more now
