Franky is consistently the least popular Straw Hat in the official popularity polls

It's because he's not a hot girl (nami, robin)
he's not a bishounen dude (sanji, Zoro)
He's not cute (chopper)
He hasn't had much dev since his intro arc (Ussop)
His potential future arc doesn't have foreshadowed strong emotional payoff (Brook & Laboon)

But, I still like Franky- his intro arc is my favorite of the bunch right next to Robin- I don't care that he's not popular-but I would really love more dev for cyborg man + Iceburg showing up again at some point. I miss their interactions.

Beats me, he is pretty based, there are two strawhats I really hate:
>Chopper
whose personality is annoying and she spends half his screentime acting as stupid luffy, as if his secondary purpose was to back up luffy's shenigans
>Robin
who is cringe, she rarely interacts with the crew, when she does nobody replies to her. Did she ever have a conversation with Brook? Zoro? Usopp? Franky? I have no idea how she feels about any of the crewmates.
Why does this show that has 900 episodes fail to build a dynamic when Avatar the Last Airbender was able to construct a dynamic between Zuko and rest of gang.

Robin usually ranks below Chopper and Usopp if I'm not mistaken, Nami consistently is the 4th most popular. Zoro is always #2 and Sanji is always #3.

He barely feels like a member of the crew most of the time, also isn't a waifu or fujobait character.
IMO Usopp should've just learned shipwrighting after the Going Merry stuff instead of getting another character added to cover that role, the crew feels too big for Oda to handle

Yes but Brook's addition was through a gag basically, Luffy's always wanted a musician and that got memed into reality. It's a bit different I guess. As of the recent arcs it feels like Oda's trying harder with Brook though.

It really does, Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp and Sanji all have a dynamic. I don't fucking know how Brook feels about Sanji, or alone how Franky feels about Robin.

I really like Franky but to be honest the only cool thing I even remember him doing post timeskip is the fight with senor pink and that was sick as fuck primarily because of his enemy. He just needs some more spotlight but the way One Piece works right now it's pretty much over with individual spotlight for the strawhats since we need a million pages for all the sidecharacters.

Brook traced WCI's poneygliph, broke mother Carmel's portrait and has saved the SH in a reasonable amount of occasions.

she still ranks higher then franky tho, and the main difference between them is the fact that she's a hot girl with a pleasing design. Neither has gotten much more dev after their main arcs (water 7- CP9). Still love both (also love Frobin)- I'm kinda ok with them not getting more dev, since they are near fully realized adults- but i'd still like to see them doing more, either interacting again with characters they did in the past (i.e. i'm curious how robin and croc's or robin & vivi's interactions will be now & my previous comment on Franky seeing iceburg again). Or how else they'll interact with others in the future so long as it's entertaining ( I like the idea of Franky effortlessly clowning on Ceaser's tech at some point, or working well as an equal to vegapunk, the seething would be amusing- even more so if it's not even Franky trying to troll- lmao he's just that good)
