Who started this bullshit? Naruto?

Goku

>Who started this bullshit?
Yusuke
>O MY YOKAI SOUL FATHER

Pretty sure it was Hokuto no Ken or maybe Devilman

Urameshi and Kuwabara bants are the only good part of YuYu

> OH MY SAIYAN HERITAGE

The whole deal of devilman was to parody the transforming hero genre, which isn't anything like what OP is talking about

Goku used the great ape form twice, both in the first 50 chapters of the manga when it was just a gag series, and he lost both times

Super Saiyan forms are training-based earned transformations not comparable to what OP is talking about.

Devilman, technically.
Though, it is also what turned anime from Hannah Barbara rip-offs to a more mature medium so you can forgive it

Blame Jojo (Oh, My star Platinum is the same as Za Warudo) and Yuyu Hakusho, I guess

How is Star Platinum comparable to this trope? The World was just an asspull, I think OP is talking specifically about things like the Kyuubi or Hollow Ichigo or Sukuna, characters and powers established near the start of the series as dangerous and evil but routinely show up conveniently when things go to shit to save the hero from certain death

Well ok. Hard to differ when both cases are cheap asspulls but I get your point

>Goku used the great ape form twice, both in the first 50 chapters of the manga when it was just a gag series, and he lost both times
No.
Improve your reading comprehension, Goku defeated Piccolo Daimao by using the strength of the Oozaru deep inside. You can still argue that he had to train in order to do that but the exact same ways happen in Naruto.
>First time Naruto uses it, he's already lost the battle as his comrade not only is defeated, he went down protecting him. He beats up Haku but Haku is only killed when he gets fucking shiv'd by Kakashi, a top level ninja.
>Second time he uses it during training after being explained how to do it by a master and being forced into a life or death situation (this is at least far more than what Goku had to go through in order to learn the fucking kamehameha) this isn't even a fight and he doesn't win shit
>When he uses it against Neji this is POST TRAINING and even then it's only an equalising factor which allows him to catch Neji off guard
>Against Gaara it's a gruelling step by step battle which eventually reaches an even standstill and disables both of them. Gaara himself also has a fucking demon inside him.
>Examine every other ninetails scene in naruto and probably tons of other series for the same results
All you're doing, like every retarded Zig Forums user does, is pretending like certain things in the story happened when they in fact did not, and you're just fucking misremembering/oversimplifying it.
Fuck off, retard.

yeah
stupid lazy cliche

Hulk

Devilman never had any asspulls what are you talking about.

Also Chu and Koto

>OH MY GAIJIN BLOODLINE!!

Al Ewing ruined Hulk.

>asspulls two tails against Sasuke
>asspulls four tails against Orochimaru
>asspulls six tails against Pain

Fuck off, retard.

How are any of these asspulls?

Are you for real? He was losing and the Kyuubi conveniently gave him enough (unearned) power to turn the tide. They're textbook examples of the trope OP is talking about.

Okay, but the series established that the Kyuubi could do that a long time ago. So how are those asspulls?

Because it's a power that Naruto pulls out of his ass at the most convenient time possible to turn the tide. It's the definition of an asspull. There's no buildup or foreshadowing. The Kyuubi being established as a power source is merely a rationalization, not good writing.

Yes it did

>Super Saiyan forms are training-based earned transformations not comparable to what OP is talking about.
Yeah Goku really earned going Super Saiyan with training by Freeza blowing up his friend.

It's just plot convenience, not an asspull. The rationalization that the Kyuubi being used as a power source already doesn't make it an asspull. You know it's there. You know the seal has been getting weaker, and the angrier Naruto gets the more it leaks out. What more buildup and do you need?

Yes, he did, speedreader. Super Saiyan was foreshadowed the entire arc as the result of massive training and emotional response. Goku did gravity training on the way to Namek, which Vegeta acknowledges as having made him surpass the natural Saiyan limit, and then the emotional response is mentioned multiple times afterwards before Goku transforms.

Out of EVERY transformation in the series, you picked the most well developed and best foreshadowed one to bitch about. Way to go, retard.

>Who started this bullshit?
The editors of profitable shonen fightan series.

You literally don't know what asspull is.

Kurama also gains to benefit from the seal weakening so there’s no reason for him not to give Naruto chakra whenever he’s in trouble.

He lost the match against Sasuke, failed to kill Orochimaru and was calmed down (and fucked the mission up as well) and failed to kill Pain with six tails either
You're retarded
