So we can all agree that this is the best anime netflix has produced, yes?
The Great Pretender
I won’t agree because I didn’t watch it
>So we can all agree
no
I recommend that you do. Most Netflix animes have been a slog for me to get through, but this one has been very enjoyable. Writing is good, artstyle is very pleasing. Animation is decent and the subject matter doesn't require a lot of flashy things where it might look worse.
Why not, user?
If that last plot twist didn't happen this anime would be a 10/10
Netflix did not produce it.
The last two heists were pure trash so no
How's season 2? Gave season 1 a strong 8/10 because it's genuinely entertaining but also very predicable for a heist/scheme series and also nothing particularly noteworthy
That ain't saying much, though.
Netflix didn't produce it. It was produced by (in order):
>Production I.G
>Fuji Television Network
>Wit Studio
>Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures
>TOHO
>BS Fuji
Yes, it was. And it was also garbage
>netflix has produced
Don't give them credit.
And it was really fun but the last arc is a slog and shits the bed in many many ways.
It ended up being total shit though, the final arc especially.
Why did they deviate from heists being 4 episodes in the second season? Seriously who fucking thought the second season being one nine episode heist was a good idea?
>that last plot twist
You have to be more specific.
My main criticism, maybe the only one, is that they rely far too much on twists that were just like keikaku all along.
Because it is not second 2. The show is just one, 23 episodes long, season, with the last story arc being published a couple on months after the rest of the series. It's just netflix that treats the last nine episodes like a season 2. And like the majority of anime seires the last story arc is the longest
season 2*
Ashura is better
Probably one of the least shitty.
I see. Well I'm on episode 3 of the last heist. I thought the first two heists were very good, while the last one was good but focused too much on flashbacks and Cynthia's relationship with the painter guy.
>I was merely pretending
dropped it after a few episodes. Should i pick it back up??
I'd say at least watch the 1st three heists. 2nd one is the best in my opinion.
While an enjoyable ride the final arc has so many issues.
What the actual fuck was Oz's plan. At first I thought failing the initial con had literally trapped him in a position of going to jail then selling children because why the fuck would you do that to yourself? He spent actual years helping people sell children that he can't take back but you know, gotta avenge Dorothy and pull of the long con.
Alright class. Here's your creative writing assignment: How do you fix the last arc?
He're a quicky:
> Dad isn't merely pretending to be a criminal, he's been under cover too long.
> Dad betraying Edamura isn't part of the plan
> Edamura is actually conflicted about working for a child trafficking ring
> But because of it he comes to understand the sittuation Dad is in and wants to 'save' him
> Edamura is the one that convinces Cynthia and Abby to come back despite being shot.
> High point of the heist doesn't rely on the previous enemies saving the gang's ass
his plan involved manipulating his son into being groomed by the widow, so he had to wait. I wish I was joking
Edamura's breakdown isn't fake and he sold off everyone to the cops (except abby because he wants to fuck her)
laurent escapes from prison as the obligatory sequel hook
there, fixed
>except abby because he wants to fuck her
Nice
It was mediocre, so no.
Last arc was wack
*ahem*
>animes
Based.
